Fear ón Srath Bán

Have started this one to complement the Tyrone Club Football and Hurling thread  ;)

So, we need a point from the Mayo game to guarantee Division One survival -- any word on any of the injuries from last night's game against Kerry?

I'll take my chances Ziggy, they don't have to read it!  ;)

Still OK Ziggy  ;)

Now that we have reached the ultimate stage of the NFL, after the highs of the beginning, and the depths of the middle, it would seem that the footballers have turned something of a corner in that things are looking a lot less blacker than they were just a few weeks ago.

The Positives

  • Jonathan Curran
  • Joe Mc Mahon's return
  • Justin Mc Mahon
  • Davy Harte's consistency
  • Peter Donnelly at Number 3 (something of a revelation against Kerry, so Art Mc Rory may not be that far off the mark)
  • Hub showing signs of form recovery
  • Brian Dooher's return from injury and improving form
  • Ryan Mellon's returning to form
  • Conor Gormley back up to speed after the injury
  • Enda Mc Ginley getting back to something like his best
  • Raymond Mulgrew in the half-forward line
  • Eoin Mulligan's return to form (if he can keep a lid on it)
  • Niall Gormley
  • Colm Cavanagh (doesn't look out of place with the Seniors)
  • Colm Mc Cullagh (if he can keep a lid on it)
  • Martin Penrose (in certain types of games, such as the Kerry game)
  • Dermot Carlin (as wing half-back)
  • Philip Jordan's imminent return
  • Collie Holmes' return
  • Ciarán Gourley's return (though maybe not in the corner)
  • Ricey steady
  • Paul Rouse (the option!)

Concerns

  • Seán Cavanagh (hoping that he'll pick it straight up from where he left off)
  • Brian Mc Guigan's delayed return from injury
  • Stevie O'Neill's form
  • Ger Cavlan's continuing susceptibility to injuries
  • Mickey Magee
  • Cormac Mc Ginley
  • John Devine

Unknowns (still)

  • Kelvin Hughes
  • Damian Mc Caul (is it a year too early?)
  • Cathal Mc Carron (ditto)

Possibles (though probably not this year)

  • Niall Mc Ginn
  • Philip Toner

Fair assessment?

Fionntamhnach

Aidan McCarron is still on the panel, was speaking to him today. Says the panel has been cut now to 38.

tyroneman

Fairly close to the mark.

Only alterations / additions:

Positives
Mulgrew starting to look the part of CHF understudy
Sean Cavanagh still looking the best offensive MF in Ireland
Some deadwood off the panel

Negatives
P Donnelly's continuing place on the team / panel - 1 reasonable game does not a county player make
MH Still messin around with Joe McMahon - put him at FB and leave him there
Packies lack of brains at Kick outs - how many times to Dara O'De?????
Kelvin Hughes - not up to scratch
Lack of a decent CHF option (a year and 2 stone too early for Mulgrew)
Lack of forward cohesion
Myth of the production line still being exposed

Apologies Fionntamhnach, have just remembered him, and definitely worth his place.

Well, if it's needless, it'll fall through into natural disuse and disappear.
Not appropriate to put county stuff on the club thread, and excessive to start a new one for each bit of news (unless old games are resurrected each time). QED. :P
