Tipp Football semis at the arse end of October? What's to stop them (Westmeath, Waterford too - in fact all bar AI semi-finalists should) playing them in Aug/Sept, can hardly be that many dual players involved.  A lot of counties are doing a disservice to the games themselves, playing in gutters at this time of year when there's bugger all stopping Aug/Sept finals.

Tipp's minor team probably held the show up.

Great game in Mullingar considering the conditions. A few cracking scores in the first half but Shamrocks fell apart after the break.

It sure was. If Shamrocks had an inside forward line they would have won that I feel, they certainly had the legs in the first half but Garrycastle dug deep in the second. For Shamrocks not to score in the 2nd half was criminal, they were very strong in the middle third but need to work on their full back and forward lines. Karl Henson was my motm, if only he was taller.

Enjoyable afternoon in Parnell yesterday where Plunketts and St Brigids overcame Lucan and Ballymun respectively to make it an all Navan Road final. Plunketts always looked the more likely with Berno getting 1-5 wthout playing great!!. Jayo was fantastic his movement excellent throughout and Ross McConnell dominated midfield. Ref rode Lucan though.
In the second game Ballymun opened like a train and went 5 point up before Brigids got going and it was a real game of two halves with Ballymun 6 points up at HT but Brigids winning the second half. Went to exra time where the ref ruined it again by sending of Ballymun lad for a second yellow and then Brigids scored 1-2 in the last 5 mins to win it. Impressed with Ballymun a good young fit and well coached team but ultimately Brigids bigger lads and experience saw them through, Barry Cahill and Paddy Andrews best for them I thought and your man Supple is some keeper. Ballymun had a lad playing midfield ,Davey Byrne, whose only about 5'9'' but what  a spring in his him. Caught two or three balls with unbelievable leaps. All told great value for a tenner

Cross are a much better team than this time last year, lump on them to win the AI.
