Title: Kindred Spirits, the Irish people and the Choctaw Nation,
Post by: stew on June 18, 2017, 06:24:10 PM
It was great to see Ireland recognize the contribution the Choctaw Nation gave us in 1847 at the height of the famine, they had little to nothing themselves yet they sent us money to help feed our ancestors and they undoubtedly saved lives.

The monument is a sublime piece of art and will stand as a permanent reminder to us all of the tremendous gift the Choctaw people gave us in our most desperate of times, I think it was great to see their Chief and nation members attend the ceremony and I for one thank the nation for the magnificent gesture.

Is that the best you can do???

Never is the answer but I suppose they are lucky the democrats did not enslave them as well as take everything from them, so they had that going for them, which is nice. )

Irish immigrants were responsible for a lot of atrocities against the native Americans too.

Any picture of the monument or where is it located?

QuoteIrish immigrants were responsible for a lot of atrocities against the native Americans too.

One of  the worst was General Sheridan, a blot on Cavan.
