More mayhem in Longford as the Laygen v Grattans Intermediate championship match ended up with a free-for-all at the end.

At least 6 red cards doled out.....crowd in off the sidelines. Supporters and players fighting. Women in the thick of it.

FFS!

Shamrock Shore

Both teams ejected from Intermediate Championship but there is a appeal process.

South Longfords letting their inner South Longfordness out (no, Shamrock, Edgytown does not count as South Longford). There are a lot of reasons why I am delighted that we are no longer playing Intermediate or Divison 2 football, and not having to regularly encounter Cro-Magnon Man In His Element is one of them (Kenagh are worse than either of these two, and Shroid and Forgney were as bad when they were in existence).

Having come across the referee at one of our matches earlier this year, we were definitely unimpressed.

Love the way our odds have halved in some cases  ;D

Our propensity to self destruct in the backline could cost us against Abbey. A win here and the title is all but ours.

Ballymahon 0-12 Killashee 1-6

Abbeylara 1-14 Mostrim 0-10
Mullinalaghta 1-11 Dromard 1-10

Abbeylara and Mullinalaghta reach the quarter-finals with Ballymahon looking likely to join them. Abbey get through despite the absence of Robbie Smyth.

Longford Slashers 2-11 Killoe 1-14

Killoe come back from 9 down to get a place in the quarter-finals.

Clonguish 2-13 Carrickedmond 2-6
Colmcille 1-14 Granard 2-9

Granard and Killashee bow out.

Well lads, apologies for going off topic, but do any of ye have any interest in collecting programmes, books etc, or even know or anyone locally who does? Looking to fill in some gaps but its not too often Longford games pop up on ebay etc!

Only Group 3 matches this weekend, but with the potential to wrap up the group a week early:

Colmcille v Killashee, Sat 5.30pm, Dromard
Fr Manning Gaels v Granard, Sat 7pm, Dromard

A win for Colmcille will see them through to the quarter-finals. Granard need to win to stay up in Senior football, and the win would have the side-effect of ensuring that Ballymahon can't be caught for the second quarter-final spot.

But they didnt win last year. So I was wondering. Did Mullinalaghta  ambush them last year or do they  really have the pedigree to get to a Leinster semifinal?

The bookies obviously view things in a particular way. Last year was not an ambush.

So is 7/4 a good price ?
