Galway game was a shambles in my opinion no positives to take apart maybe Aaron Dunphy .

I left it 10 mins early because I was frozen and had forgot my hat .

I was surprised there was no more goals on the board for Galway when I heard the result after .

Our full back line was so slow when Galway got the ball in it was like a backs and forwards game you'd see where backs don't care.

I don't see much progress under the management but I probably don't got to enough games so maybe my comments could be a tad harsh

Not the worst value for money .

If we hadn't got them we would have no coverage

Hopefully we actually have something resembling a defensive plan for Saturday, although I wouldn't hold my breath. We need to stick as tight as possible for the first half, not go foolhardy like last time and get blown out of the water after 4 minutes.

Why Billy persists with the same modus operandi every time is a bit strange to see the least. Personally, I would like to see a few positional switches, namely Rob Piggott and Paddy O'Sullivan in particular back in the half back line, where they play at club level. Sean O'Flynn's best qualities are the stickiness of his defending. I get he offers some pace and occasional surging runs from deep, but he doesn't offer much of a shooting threat. I don't see why he couldn't be tried in at full back given we leak goals like a veteran ship taking water.

Not sure Damon Larkin's best position is midfield either. Ciaran Burke was one of the best midfielders in the county last year and can't get a look in! Just a bit of experimentation Billy, that's all I ask. Not like we've anything to lose at this point anyways.

Surprised Finn is not starting after recovering from injury he was decent early in the league when we won a few games and adds size against a big Cavan team around the middle.

O moore Park portlaoise will benefit from this draw looking at likely scenarios.

It's probably most accessible than most grounds for the neutral games that look likely

Toughest draw we could have got .
Best top seeds and best 2nd seeds .

We will need to keep the scores down and hope a healty win v London might scrape us through

Buggie is definitely county material . Whether it's his decision or not to be involved he would surely add some strength and depth .

Yeah he is defo as good if not better than a few in there

Colm Parkinson told RTÉ Sport's Eithne O'Brien that, "I think we're a better footballing team.

"Dublin are hyped up by the media. We knew coming up here that if we rattled them, that they'd be over-confident, that we'd be able to get a run on them. That's the way it's going.

"So hopefully in the second-half we'll be able to drive it home, and I can't see us losing from this point, to be honest with you."

Ahhh Wolly at half time in 2003

How right he was

Rem in 2015 I think we were 2 points up at the break I remember been at it and there was nobody from laous there .
Donie Ross Strong and Finn all kicked wonder points into the hill .

Good Laois team on the day Brody made his debut

The annoying thing about Monaghan is they can produce brilliant displays at times however once they have any sort of scalp they seem happy to disappear again for another year.

They always seem like a team to be happy in Division 1 without any actual desire to go on and win anything, 2 ulster titles in 35 years back that up

That's one of the most insulting things I've read on GAA Board.

A county that has decimated the natural bar set by their population levels, for 2 generations now.

And you describe them as a failure.

It's not just insulting. It's retarded.

Nothing retarded about it. Monghan have had the beating of many ulster teams over the years in certain games. Their failure is doing it at leat semi consistently. No point in pulling a few big games a year out of the bag, they had had the talent over the last 8 years to be challenging for regular ulster titles at least and have failed to do so

In that 8 years you had a super  Donegal and  Tyrone to contend with not to mention the quality of the other teams that ulster can produce ...

Silly statement they have punched above their weight for a long time .

Counties like laois westmeath offaly Longford wesmeath fermanagh cavan Down Sligo Wicklow etc would love to have the success they have had .

Yes 2 titles in 10 years could have been 4 or 5 but they were unfortunate with the draw aswell meeting Tyrone Dublin and kerry in quarters and semi in them years .

A great county with great pride

Disappointing afternoon . There's something not quite right . We seem rudderless throughout parts of the match and this has been a common trait this year . Some of the decision making in the forwards was baffling .
Also there has to a question mark over our fitness . Clear to see that half way through the first half playing with the wind certain players were gasping .
Thought Fennell was very good at corner back and Mullaney also very decent .
Anyway onto Down next week .

I didn't think Fennell was great ???
The full back line was terrible esp Donnacha Hartnet he was beaten to most balls and fouled at least 4/5 times .

Not one of the backs were changed  despite conceding soft goals .

No plan to stop Cahill ?

Fitness terrible

Only Offalys poor mistakes and pickys accuracy kept us in touch.

Offaly were all over the place in the 1st half maybe due to good hunger from us but we should been further ahead .

When offaly upped the game 7/8 mins into the 2nd half we were gasping for air and the breaks in play were welcome for the laois players .

If I was a defender on that bench for a laois I'd be asking what I was named for ?

So dissapoointed to now be back below westmeath offaly and Antrim now .

Hopefully the footballers might lift our spirits again tomorrow.
