If these top teams play each other too often it destroys the hype look at premier league its hard to get hyped for a liverpool v manchester united they play at least twice a year and look at rangers v celtic 4 games a season if the gaa turn the all ireland into an exclusive club it will ruin the hype

One thing about combat sport and mma is the same fighters dont fight each other that often so its big hype when two big names fight each other

GAA Discussion / Gaa club throw in times
August 05, 2019, 11:55:38 PM
What is the earliest you seen matches start and the latest  do they have matches throw in at 11am on saturdays  have you seen matches throw in at 9pm

I am not a fan of the late sunday throw in example 7pm on a sunday tho i i think friday evening is a good time for throw in.

Saturday at 12pm or 1pm is a good time to start a game gives u plenty of time to wake up and be fresh

id imagine it be hard for those working non 9 to 5 shift patterns  to play gaa tho even  if they dont work weekends cause there sleep pattern be all over the place

im not familar with this part i am assuming matches are free to enter except for maybe county finals and you would have to pay to get into provincial club mathes and then the all ireland semi finals what prices are tickets for club matches

Gives a team a bit more incentive to qualify  in 1st place example would dublin try harder now  against tyrone if they knew a defeat means they have to travel up to ballybofey/castlebar or go down to killarney same with tyrone would tyrone try harder if they knew a win means they dont have to potentially go down to killaney or face  a pumped up mayo crowd on a warm saturday afternoon

why does this happen a lot team down 3 points with  a minute  to go and they go for a point

Just heard on otb that after next year they want to be play the club finals in an calendar year

My propasal would be to play them on st stephens day st stephens has that saturday feel about it anyway and its a big sports day

id have all the 6 finals on that day if possible in croke park junior intermediate senor   in hurling and football
#11
Do you think all ireland semi finals should be taking out of croke park
#12
Can anyone tell me if there has been any clubs that won a junior league title then an intermediate title the year after or intermediate league titles then a senior title  and has it happen much in county championships aswell
#13
anyone around here have memories of the provincial finals in the pre qualifier area was there a more atmosphere and hype to the games was looking at some videos on youtube and there seemed to be bigger crowds and better atmosphere do you think the provincial finals now are dead.Provincial finals before qualifiers were introduced were effectively all ireland quarter Final.

Its like if you lose the provincial final now its like it be nice to win a trophy but ah well we just play another game and be in the super 8

When do counties start club championships and do tg4 show maches from early rounds of county championships and will some matches be live on youtube

People talk about dublins dominance but what do people think how there club teams perform against inter county teams could dublins top club teams beat a lot of intercounty teams are dublin that strong
#16
Should there be more done to promote the club championships and get them on rte id would like to see maybe two games a week once club championships start on rte maybe rte could do a friday night game under the lights would be great could pick out a key game matchup each week and i think it be good for the clubs knowing they on rte.

Also the club finals should be live on rte imo clubs need to be promoted more.

BBC NI Should be showing club ulster championship games aswell

If they do does that technically mean there professional as they wouldnt be getting favours if they were not playing gaa
#18
If they move them from st patricks day and had them on some saturday in april or something or is the attendance ok or should they be moved from croke park all together but that would take away from the occasion of getting to croke park which would be a pretty big thing for a club player.

Is the current sitaution ok  or do some people get the feeling that people are concentrating on other things on paddys day so do you think having them on a different day would get a bigger crowd.Could it be the case that your not going to ever get a big crowd because gaa clubs are more of a thing supported by their own communities and your not going to get much casuals intrested in club finals unless there connected to that club.

Could having 4 or 6 games in the one day help things aswell have all the junior or intermediate finals on the same day aswell could that help things.

How much are the tickets for the club finals
#19
Could there be room be two club championships per year they kind of do this in mexican soccer could have the spring championship finish on st paddys day then conclude the other championship maybe somewhere between September and December maybe

what about the idea of getting rid of provincial club championships and just having a single 33 team knockout tournament among the all the county winners like the old european cup and have an open draw so if the tyrone champions have to play the limerck champions in first round in limerick so be it.

Has the time come to nationalise the game
