Three ourselves. 5, 3 and 2. The younger two both pandemic babies and there certainly was a difference. They found it a bit harder to adjust to visitors coming to the house etc because of the lack of contact for so long.

Think we will stop at 3. The last one especially was very rough emotionally and physically on the wife.

The night feed stages feel like they go on forever, but it will amaze you how quickly it passes. Best of luck to all on here currently going through it.

Quote from: toby47 on January 10, 2024, 03:44:47 PMI've been offered a few tickets for the darts in the SSE arena in Belfast this year. Is it a decent night out worth going to?

I'm a casual darts watched over Xmas every year, but don't watch it any other time of year. Probably more hooked this year due to the Littler story.

Been to the Belfast and Dublin ones a few times, mostly 8/9 years ago.

Its a decent enough atmosphere for the most part. There definitely seemed to be a change at the Belfast one as the poster above has said. You would be lucky if half the crowd is still there by the time the last game starts, most clear out early because they know there will be a schmozzle at the end.

If you are with a good sized group and have a table its great craic, the seats around the sides less so.

Quote from: Eire90 on January 08, 2024, 03:29:06 PMwhy they use an orange ball indoors if there was any place to use it it would have bee yesterday in maybe both matchs in the all ireland club semi finals.

Presumably used indoors to contrast against the white backdrop of the airdome.

He doesn't help himself the way he goes on. Personally can't stand him but good to see him playing somewhat well again

This is the exact point. He would get much more slack if he chose better when to speak and when not to speak. He seems preoccupied with coming across like he is considered a 'leader'.

Better to shut your mouth and let everyone think you are stupid than open it and prove them right.

A bit more will be made clearer after (assumed) ratification tonight. Maybe the plan is Micky on a short-term basis, 2-year term maybe. Going for an immediate injection to maximise the current momentum. Then Malachy O'Rourke takes over after the end of his current agreement with Glen.

Meenagh gone.

Source?

If you know any Derry players ask them.

Well known over a month Meenagh was gone.

The director of operations and chairman have been working overtime to try and lay the ground for a return for Gallagher but others such as sponsors have other ideas.

No return for RG. A new man/team incoming

He came across fantastically well. Very measured young fella. If half the team has his mentality there's plenty of good days to come yet.

Did you feel like the Meenagh question was pushed a bit unfairly?
Felt a bit gotcha, trying to generate a sound bite/ story.

Just listened to Oisín Mc Conville and Thomas Niblock interview Brendan Rogers.
I have at last, after 67 years,  found the hero I want to be when I grow up.

I prefer BBC coverage to RTE at the minute myself. RTE comms never done saying how poor a game is.
I think BBC pundits are head and shoulder above others. Michael Murphy is very good, and they have a bit of debate.

RTE ones seem to have pre-rehearsed lines they are determined to push.

Thomas niblock is hard to listen to commentating. He is awful. Bring back Mark Sidebottom.
And Philly mc Mahon is even worse.
The BBC used to be much better at this.

The two lads last night came to the conclusion that Tyrone are the strongest Ulster team left in the AI series.
The same Tyrone team that have won one championship game since 2021 and were beaten by both Derry and Armagh last year.

That was woeful stuff alright. Taking form from 2 years ago and elevating them above the 2 best current teams in the province.

Listen to a few decent podcasts for GAA analysis now. The Sunday Game is finished in terms of analysis, its shockingly bland stuff.

Tyrone see to be a jekyll and hyde team these days and are just too inconsistent.  On a good day, they can be a handful, but you couldn't rely on it.  The two guys seem to think we haven't seen them fully and they may be thinking they are going to get a bit of a run, but I don't personally see it happening.  Liable to go out and beat Galway, but fail to back it up against Armagh.

There are a few Tyrone lads like Canavan, McGinley and Cavanagh working in RTE now alongside Flynn and Keegan so maybe they are simply trying to cosy up to them. But how they rate Tyrone as the best Ulster have to offer simply doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

The biggest issue I have with the show though is the fact that it is long past its sell by date. Last night was one of the worst examples.

TSG seems to be stuck between what it wants to be. Its trying to be MOTD with highlights and key moments discussed. Its trying to be like Skys Monday Night Football where they go into a deep dive into tactics and playing styles and also trying to be a magazine show touching on wider talking points and other codes.

What antics were Derry at? The only thing I saw was McGuigan charging after the ball in the middle of getting treatment which wasn't great. Other than that I didn't see anything dirty from us!

Just saw Flynn and Keegan tell us Tyrone are still the team to beat in Ulster anyway so what even is the point of the Ulster championship?

I just caught this and couldn't believe what I was hearing. There's not a massive gap between Derry and Armagh. And if Tyrone had been narrowly beaten by either you could understand it. But theyve won 1 championship game since the all Ireland of 2021 and were beaten by both Derry and Armagh last year in championship.

The new Centra petrol station on curr road layout is crazy. No right turning lane for traffic going towards Omagh is shocking. Just short off a blind corner . Pure madness, accident black spot in the making !

A really brutal decision by Ferm and Omagh planning on this one. DfI Roads requested a right turn lane. The applicant met DfI Roads and it was agreed that it wasn't necessary.
No minutes of that meeting available, or evidence of what was discussed or how it was agreed.

Big listenership. GAA board is not a reflection of the wider public on this subject.

Agree, while he's not my cup of tea at all, he must bring in a serious % of available audience for his shows both here and on 5Live.

I see that he's paid more than double what the the director of BBCNI earns.

Petitions wont bridge that gap.
