In the relegation game, would expect a comfortable win for Cookstown against a very poor Eskra side who needed to win last weekend but didn't.  Dromore gave them every chance of winning also looking at the team they fielded which was missing a raft of regulars.  Eskras only threat is Peter Hughes so if Cookstown can stop him, they should run out 8-9 points winners.

The bigger challenge for Cookstown will be the D2 playoff winners that will probably end up being Trillick or Derrylaughran.  That promotion / relegation game will be a lottery.

Aye good lad

Anyone else shocked by Brackaville and Cookstown results?

Div 2 For Cookstown they wont be missed from senior football.....what a shambles of a club..
Last year they seemed to annoy a lot of clubs and this year they didn't seem to have the mettle to back it up and perhaps it came back to haunt them.

Think Cookstown made a conscious effort last year to toughen up - no bad thing, however think they took it too far with cheap shots, diving and mouthing off. This p*ssed lot of clubs off meaning that when came to the end of the season every team wanted to put the knife in and send them down.

Probably time for a clear out in the club and start over. There's def talent there there's just a correct way to do things!

One or two idiots brought the rest down but that is what you get when they rule. They deserve what they got. Reckon they wont be back for a while. Thank f.

A lot of great lads involved with Cookstown and a few bad apples make it difficult for everyone. Will be a force next yr.

Off course cookstown will be a force next year, some talented footballers....in intermediate football.

TF15

You can't artificially build balls and character. You can act hard, do dirty sly hits and mouth to your hearts content but when it comes to a 50-50 and its all on the line you either have it or you don't. Maybe they'll learn if they come back up to operate with a bit of class. Pissed off so many clubs last year that everyone couldn't wait to get a rattle at them and put manners on them. Hope Cookstown can now get rid of the trash that's tainting a lot of good GAA people in that community. Fair play to Eskra, small club with a lot of heart, nothing artificial about the toughness of them fellas. Derrylaughan or Trilick (Should be Trillick although they'll be taking nobody for granted now) await them, real toss up there I think, will be an interested game.

Your right TF15 there is alot of trash around that team. Heard that Paul McGurk retired from the side after the game. A truely great player among a few rotten eggs. McGurk should probably have won two or three All Ireland's with Tyrone if it was not for injury. Pity about some of his team mates. Cant see them countin next year.

Yes

Will Dromore still be a serious team after McCullagh/ McMenamin finish up?

longballin

Remembering how Mulligan was scathing of those who call Cookstown a 'yo yo' club. Is a joke at this stage... favourites for Ulster again next year...   ::)
