A sad farewell to one of the modern-day greats

His last 6

As he leaves the pitch

magpie seanie

Nazir to 150 of 166 balls. Some hitting. Pakistan will finish well over 300 and i simply cannot see Zimbabwe threatening that. We're almost through!

Great pics,  you'd nearly feel sorry for Ireland having beaten them seeing that.

Pakistan 349 (49.5 ov)

It will take a miracle for Pakistan to lose with that total.

An absolute Everest for Zimbabwe. I'll run naked around this board if they do it.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Jayz, just announced on radio that a former president of the Irish Cricket Union has died suddenly at his hotel room in Jamaica.

Strange

QuoteIt is with deep regret that the Irish Cricket Union announce the sudden death of former President and Chairman, Bob Kerr.

Kerr, 68, died suddenly at his hotel in Ocho Rios in Jamaica, where he was supporting Ireland at the World Cup.

Adrian Birrell, coach of the Ireland team said, "This is tragic news, and on behalf of the entire squad and management, I'd like to pass on our sympathy and condolences to his wife Hope, and his family circle. Bob was a great ambassador for Irish cricket, and worked tirelessly in his various roles within cricket."

Bob Kerr was ICU Chairman from 2000-2002, and was President of the Union in 2004. He was the current North West Cricket Union Chairman.

Current ICU Chairman Murray Power said, "It's a very sad day for Irish cricket. Bob has served cricket in Ireland magnificently over a long period of time. My sincere condolences to his wife, Hope, and his family, at this very difficult time."

Former ICU Chairman Joe Doherty paid tribute saying, "We are all stunned by this news. Bob has given outstanding service to Irish cricket at club, provincial, and national level, holding almost every senior position in the land with distinction. To me personally, he was always very supportive, especially when I was Chairman of the NWCU and ICU. I shall always be grateful for that.

His sudden passing will leave a big void in Irish cricket, and his beloved North West. My sincere condolences go to his loving wife Hope at this devasting time."

Bob Kerr was a retired headmaster, and played his cricket for Dungannon and North Fermanagh, whom he helped set up.

Zimbabwe must score 350 to stay in the World Cup, otherwise Ireland will join the West Indies in the Super Eight phase of the tournament.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Square Ball

Hospitals are not equipped to treat stupid

ONeill

After rain, Target is 193 from 20 overs

Zimbabwe 93 for 7 in 17 overs.

If Zimbabwe score 100 runs in three overs we're out. About a six per ball.

99 for 9 in 19 overs

99 for 10 in 19 overs

All over - Ireland are through!

Just a word for Zimbabwe's Chigumbura. He hit three 6s in a row in the 14th over.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

How strange is that, coming after the other death - and his name's Bob too.

Hard to believe Ireland are through to the next stage, before they even play their last group game!

This World Cup has been eventful to put it mildly (and I don't even follow Cricket at all)
