First hand account

Well, some of us were busying ringing the gardai (before we knew they were gardai) others were down on the ground: Wwatching the whole thing, as if it was an episode from CSI Miami.

Here's what we think: this was an undercover job as the place was swarming with detectives in plain clothes. There was one cop with a balaclava, baseball cap and sunnies, which he kept on all the time.  He was the undercover agent.  When the robberies tried to get away the gardai swarmed out from everywhere.  First we heard (literally outside the back door – we were in the kitchen where we could see everything) was cars crashing and breaks screeching.  Next thing there's shouting and guns are being pointed and shots fired (3).  At that point we scattered,
The guy they caught was thrown to the ground and handcuffed.  I don't think he was shot though but was bleeding.
But, there was running around looking for the accomplices: not sure if the others got away; but we only saw one person being arrested.  I don't think he was read his rights!
