At Omagh and Dunmoyle today. Carrickmore were so poor it was hard to believe. The scoreline could have been much worse for them. Omagh missed a number of very good goal chances and a penalty. Omagh were very impressive without ever having to exert themselves. Joe McMahon played very well but not 100% fit. Carrickmores 'senior' players were terrible shocked by how poor they were. They are lucky the draw gives them time to sort out whatever is wrong.
The Clonoe Errigal game was very entertaining both teams playing some good football in poor conditions. Clonoe have everything power pace and ball winning forwards who can finish. Errigal played well for 40 min but down a man the strength and power of clonoe wore them down. McDermotts sending off was harsh and helped turned the game. Having said that a number of players on both teams were very lucky to see out the hour colly Doris and davey Harte seemed to ship a lot of poor tackles. Young Patrick Dorris does Clonoe no favours acting the maggot. He will cost Clonoe dear in the years ahead as referees will have seen and heard enough from him. Am sure the clonoe posters will defend him saying Errigal singled him out but he wasn't on the pitch 10 seconds before he started the messing and brought all the unwanted attention on himself.

from what I seen Errigal 28 charged into patrick as soon as he came on patrick had no other choice to push him back 28 continued this too the end if he had of conected with patrick at the end he would have taken his head off.... right in front off the referee as well he done nothing about....

Was at the Errigal v Clonoe game. As stated above when the game was in the melting pot (15 minutes to go,  Errigal 4 up) Errigal seemed more interested in the man rather than playing ball. Granted they have nothing to play for but they had the game won until they reverted to these tactics. Patrick Doris came on with 10 ta go and was hit by at least 3 different Errigal men and laughed it off. Clonoe no angels either when things got heavy but they controlled their heads more

Anybody at the Omagh Slaughter of Carrickmore?? Reports??

I know we had at least 4/5 on that prob be not on come championship but the way the game panned out for us it was a great game two week b4 championship in terrible conditions. ... fair to say us and Errigal not dying about other. ... never in 30 Odd years of following football I never mind  carrIckmore getting that type off beating....Omagh will not be easy beat in the championship...

Really sent out a statement of intent there with that result have to be regarded as favourites for the cup no disrespect to Eglish. another side of it is what did carrickmore put into the game have they thoughts on a bigger prize?

in my opinion if you go head to head to head with them and go for an open game they would beat any team in this county.... the size of fintona pitch will suit eglish though which will keep them in the game for a while but omagh will overcome them... at that stage they will be one game away for a county final on their own patch will make them favorites no matter who they play in my opinion. ..

Suppose a bit of ill feeling carrying over from the championship game.

yeah we had no ill feeling we here delighted ;) They dont seem to like the Doris brothers for some reason patrick only came on with five to go errigal where 4 up and concentrated more on taking his head off that football we nipped in for 4 poonts the. Number 28 in particular who ever be was.

Never left a match early in my life but by god today i was tempted....was so disappointing with Tyrone today... off course the sending off affected the game... but we looked shapeless unfit and mentally not up for the challenge...don't think all in sundry need sacked but surely we are at the stage where some questions need asked....i don't think we have the players to win an all Ireland and people have to understand this is a transition period and the next group of players may not be as good as the last.....but surely we are better than that dung i watched today and the dung i watched in the first half of the minor match v Monaghan!!!

Went to the Ardboe v Clonoe Reserve Final last nite. Ardboe played with 2 I repeat 2 sweepers in a county final. They had all bar 2 players in Clonoe's half. Donegal style but without the Murphy to kick the scores. 3-2 at HT sums it up. 2nd half it looked like Clonoe pushed up on the free men and the introduction of Ryan Rambo O'Neil with his pace cause Ardboe problems, think he hit 2 mighty scores. Clonoe also introduced Shane O'Hagan and with his direct running he won Clonoe the game. He handed off men left right and centre and Ardboe couldn't cope with his strength. Ardboe have to be disappointed but they went out very negative and Clonoe eventually ground them down. Agree that both teams would give the Intermediate Championship a good rattle

As a Clonoe man delighted to win back to back titles and defend one of our 3 county titles from last year which is a difficult task at any level......We eventually broke Ardboe down who where very hard to play against and maybe deserved extra time....Ardboe may be wondering today if they had of pushed out to play what may have happened.... Ardboe are young and last night maybe be part of a bigger long time project and i would be pretty sure they will be contenders at u-21 reserve and senior level for a few years as they have some great young players coming through...as have Clonoe who last night had at least 20 subs which is some going for a club of our size....

Was there a bit of craic at the Moy v Donaghmore match the other night. I heard two sets of management were both from the Clonoe club and a bit of a rumpus happened in the Moy dugout. Any trut

heard that the other day talking to one of the clonoe men you talk about he laughed it off... Some result for Donaghmore all the same...Think the "rumpus" was between 2 players not management!!

Well I'm not going to let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Heard one high profile county player walked of the field at the end refusing to shake hands with anyone... and his team had a long chat in midfield after the game while he spat the dummy out and headed for the car and went home!!!

Is this under lights man for real?? Some crazy statements. CCC are run by a dictator with no regard for players or clubs. County teams including seniors also treated like sh#te.

He must be on the ccc or has no involvement at club level to see what really is going on.... or he is winding us up...

Bigtogs were you at the under21 game tonight another big win for you's. How do you think Friday night will go Ardboe are a good team very pacy.

yes was at it was a handy enough win fair play to Killdress they played away..... Ardboe on friday night will be a different story could go right to the wire....

Clonoe would be far superior opposition to Kildress however have to say must give credit to Kildress - they were graded in div 2 (which they prob could have won) but insisted they would prefer to be in Div 1 (for development I suppose) and when Moortown dropped out at last minute they got into 1.

I was fearful myself that this could of been a bad call but a couple of good results against Ardboe & Cookstown and a performance against Coalisland will help the lads more than any div 2 game would of.

I'd say it would be another Clonoe v Pomeroy final!

Killdress made a good call in my opinion if they have aspirations of being a senior ckub playing at this level would be very beneficial. .. not every club would have done what they done so fair play to them I seen enoigh last night to see they had a sprinkling of decent player's Clonoe where just too strong for them.... but they battled gamely throughout. ..

Based on the weekends game our senior/reserve teams (Subs in brackets):
17-18 year olds- 3 (2 subs)
19-21 year olds- 8 (1 sub)
24-29 year olds- 10 (1 sub)
30 or over- 9

If your club had
Reserve champ on Friday
Minor league on Sunday
Under 21 on Tuesday
Reserve/senior league Friday
Under 21  on Sunday
Under 21 on Tuesday..
Reserve champ on Friday

Which of those 7 games in 15 days would you have rested your 5 minors for?
Would you have rested any of your 8 u-21's for the 6 games in 15 days?

Obsolete question- we don't have an Under 21 team- we assessed the situation and decided that we would be too stretched and felt that everyone was getting enough football. Just took a bit of forward thinking.

Under 21 football has been shoehorned in over the last few years and probably doesn't get the timing it deserves.

Suppose if you removed both minor football and under 21 and get some sort of under 20 football going it could be a good job. Dunno if you would do this without it being done at a national level.

I don't think less club football is the answer. IMO it has to be a compressed inter-county season to give club planners more scope to not mess it up. Unfortunately until Central Council drag the provincial councils into the 21st century that aint going to happen.

Nail on head Leo.
