Ray Tracey, ex Ireland striker.

Nice fella, met him once at a Monaghan Utd match.

Declan

Great character Ray. RIP

T Fearon

Ray was playing the day I first saw Ireland play live,at Lansdowne,in March 1977 in World Cup qualifier against France. Some great players on the pitch that day,Giles,Heighway,Brady (who scored the winning goal) while France had Janvion,Rocheteau and Platini.

Wasn't it during a trip to Brazil on international duty that Ray became close friends with great train robber Ronnie Biggs?

T Fearon

Pat King former Tyrone player, and Fermanagh manager,in charge of a very good Fermanagh side that pushed Armagh to a single point in the Ulster semi final in 2000.Father of ex Fermanagh and Down player Shane King

Ray Treacy RIP.Sounds like he suffered a lot at the end.

But Irish sub editing is in a bad way

"He spoke of him as a man who shielded his family from the full rigours of his illness and who found it difficult to accept affection as his illness took hold. "As Ray would most definitely want, it is important today to remember the good times and celebrate his life instead of dwelling on the feeling of sadness.""Mr Treacy, whose sporting career spanned 13 years with 42 caps for his country, died following a short illness.

63 apparently. That's young nowadays but I'd say he packed a fair lifetime into them years. Rough couple of months in Dublin GAA circles, RIP.
