GAA Discussion / Re: Armagh v Galway AIQF

Just home. Some thoughts.
1. Wel done Galway. Better team. Deserved winners. It was a smash and grab raid at the end from us. We never really got going otherwise.
2. The ref. No complaints. He gave some soft frees but against both teams. I thought McCabe made a fair but hard shoulder challenge but apparently he raised his arm so had to go.
3. The melee. Sadly we are the common denominator and while it looked like Comer was the instigator we have only ourselves to blame for getting involved. Again.
4. The gouge. I do not believe for one second, and won't be convinced otherwise, that he meant to do that. However he did it. The pictures don't look good and he will have to face the consequences of his own actions and take whatever ban comes his way.
5. Penalties. What more can I say. Gutted to lose that way

Lastly, and it is with a heavy heart that I wrote this. I am ashamed to be an Armagh fan today. My nephew is 5. He was in the toilet with his dad. 5 grown men. Armagh supporters, got into a fight. One of them knocked my nephew over. The lad is traumatised. He will get over it but will he want to go back to a game again? Woukd you blame him if he didn't. The guys were wearing Armagh tops. My nephew thought they were players ffs. At this stage I am not sure I want to go back to a game.

Anyway. Best of luck to Galway against Derry in the semifinal

Hendersons are the biggest rip-off in the country and should be boycotted. Shop in Lidl etc and buy their own brands for the most stuff. Its have the price and less and tastes the same. £2.10 for mustard in my local Hendersons, its £55p in Lidl and tastes better.
You can't actually buy mustard in France atm, or at best it's one jar per customer . Was told it was something to do with failure of the Canadian mustard seed crop. Mad that there's no word of that here.

Just out of tesco there and they had plenty...

Anyways, if I get a break in the day on a Friday I tend to nip out and do the usual weekend shop..

Wasn't too bad and stayed with the clubcard priced items, fresh veg, chicken, mince beef, sausages, steak (for me tonight as she's out) wine (5 bottles) beer, sodas pancakes, couple of the street food recipes (which are great and handy) some passata and some crisps and biscuits and chocolate..

£79 after the clubcard deductions

what did ye buy for the rest of the family?

Ive changed my mind in relation who will win about 100 times. We have the ability to win but so do Galway. Its a cliché but it could wee come down to who wants it most on the day.

Sure is the price of a barrel of oil not away down this past few weeks?
has not gone

Oil is priced in dollars, if you watch Drici's thread the dollar is up against £ and € partly because of these events.
Petrol has gone up over the summer because the Americans do a lot of driving around then, which is why diesel has not gone up so much.
However, oil has fallen a bit in the last day or so, we should see this show up.

diesel has not gone up so much??????

Little physicality, you got 3/4 lads over 6ft 4in depending on who u starting.
I can think of only one lad that height on the whole panel - Patrick Kelly.

what size is Comer?

What do SF do with all the money?
Why don't you become a member and ask them? I'd guess a lot is spent on paying activists councillors etc... I don't know and I am no more bothered about how they spend the money than I am about FF, FG or the SDLP. But before you cast your nod and a wink accusations why don't you investigate and call them out on the facts?

its easier to make nod and a wink accusations though

When will people take to the streets?

And that will do what? The UK government, of which we are not in control of or have any say in, who get into elected positions are the only people to 'get' at by voting for someone who'll actually do something about it... At the minute the Tories don't give a flying f**k and the same people will still give them a majority win come the polls.

The higher the fuel goes up the more money the government make and the more money the share holders of BP and so on will keep this going.. Its getting to the point where nearly every time I'm in the car I'm wondering do I have to?

Unfortunately I have to for work

I am in the same boat and sadly it is nigh on impossible to do my job from home

With Russia looking fairly near to 'liberating' the Luhansk-Donestk regions what does the short to medium term future hold now? With the cost of living spiralling a lot of countries are going to be hoping for a ceasefire / uneasy peace.

Russia are still f**ked medium term.

Unfortunately, millions of poor bstards across the world will likely starve due to Putin's madness.

How handy is to have a war to blame for this complete financial shit show?

If the war stopped tomorrow would fuel drop back to 1.25 a litre, would home heating oil drop back to normal levels?

Would the price of food drop?

How quick would that happen?

the answer to that is, i would imagine, not quickly. Things go up very quick but they dont go the other way anywhere near as quick

But you feel that they will go back at some point and the war is to blame for it all?  Will the West ever do 'business' with Russia again or another way of saying it will the West ever do business with Putin again?

If he was 'removed' would that build confidence and allow that to happen?

I have no idea. I was just making a point that prices go up quickly but the reverse doesnt happen

I'd say they're more looking for the 6-pack of cans than anything else ... or more aptly, the buckfast this Sunday  ;)

Ah now, we put that into pepsi bottles #foolingnoone

Either team could take this. Armagh answered a lot of critics in their last two matches and if they continue with that form they'll be hard to stop. While Galway are well rested, I would question whether that is much of an advantage. Armagh have been training like demons all year so you'd expect they bring that same intensity to Croke Park. I see Jamie Clarke is back on home soil, any chance of a late call up?!

His time has gone I would say
