Not much fanboying in his articles dor tomorrow!

Quote from: Armagh18 on Today at 06:40:21 PMWhy was Lynch even off his line though.

Because Gavin Devlin was guldering from the sideline for him to push up. I suspect there will be resentment creeping in from the players at this stage. They aren't buying into this system at all.

A brave, spirited team performance yesterday against Fermanagh that just fell short in the end. On a warm afternoon in Longford, the lads left everything on the pitch.

Rioghan Murphy brought great energy for the whole game and won the penalty that was brilliantly converted by Mark Barry. Evan O'Carroll's goal was superbly taken with a great direct ball in by Damon Larkin who had an excellent game. We turned Fermanagh over a number of times throughout the game and they really had to earn their victory.

Paul Kingston chipped in with scores of the highest standard. I was impressed with both Dylan Kavanagh and Seamus Lacey's contributions also.

So New York next week in the preliminary QF. It could be a chance for some of the panel members to put their hand up for selection for what should be an away quarter final the week after. The panel has definitely been strenghtened in advance of next year's division 3 with lads well able to contribute when brought on. Yesterday I thought that Mikie Dempsey in particular did well when coming on.

I'd love a go at Kildare in a quarter final. A local derby, a decent crowd and a championship atmosphere. Obviously they would be favourites but I'd love to see where we're at. They only really saw off Leitrim in the last 10 minutes in the 2nd game yesterday in Longford and I'd be hopeful that we could really test them.

Cork 4pts 4+
Donegal 2pts +5
Tyrone 2pts +7

Going to be an exciting finish to the group in 2 weeks. If Tyrone can beat Cork and stay within 2 points of Donegal's score (assuming they beat Clare) then we'll top the group.

Cork just have to Draw and they top the group

Donegal need a win and beat Tyrone's score by 1 and they'll take it on the top spot (assuming tyrone beat cork)

Full credit to armagh and the management team, got everything spot on today.  Was surprised at Grimley starting but played a blinder. Thought mcquillan on early was a misstep given personal on the bench, again great game and great move.

Derry looked disinterested and mentality doesn't appear to be there at all.

Galway/Armagh should make for a good game, two teams confident on topping the group.

Quote from: Truthsayer on Today at 03:29:38 PMComprehensive scoreline in the end I suppose. Is an inevitability about it. Can't understand the default position of taking off McCurry.. and putting on McShane..

Was Petey came on for McCurry
I'm aware of that hence the... before McShane reference. Not saying he put McShane on for McCurry

Was fairly confident we would do ok today but the injuries prior to the game were worrying.  So wasn't expecting a walk in the park like that.  Says something about our strength in depth that we didn't miss the two critical players.  Derry were far too open and niaive.  Good to see us keep men up rather than go into the 15 behind the ball crap.  Despite all the stuff about Armagh losing big games in the past couple of years - Derry were no better than us last year, neither were Monaghan or this year, Donegal. They beat us on penalties but they weren't better teams on the day.  So Armagh have been thereabouts and showed it again today.
