truth be know i took Down plus 6 in my bet at the weekend, (Galway beating me :() Antrim missing  a fair few players and have not got a settled team.

didn't think we'd lose but expected it to be tight. we cant be relegated imtommygunn, results against the other teams and points scored.

Shocking though that Down will finish above us considering the teams that they pick from (numbers Johnny ;)) Can we turn it around before Championship? don't know at this stage. Dinny may ask for more sessions that may hurt the leagues. will wait and see

Who will you end up supporting then?

Not involved with managing team now so it does not affect club or me. when you take a team you'll understand how the county setup can have a knock on effect with your plans. I'll not hold my breath though ;)

was caught yesterday by my wife and kids, my phone has been experiencing poor signal lately and after work yesterday myself and the bosses were heading off for a pint or six, lift arranged home and all sorted. as i was leaving i got a call from my wife telling me a slate had crashed into the front windowscreen of the car!!!

now I'd been up on the roof fixing something the other day so i thought I'd loosened a slate. as she just got the story out my signal was lost so i could answer the phone or call. i raced home only to find that the kids and my wife were fine and the window screen was still in place!!

never got my pint >:(

My wee brother had it for years as a child growing up, was scary watching him fit and just us sort of contain him. his medication helped but he struggled in school because of it. Fortunately he has been fit free for many years has been driving and has a trade behind him.

takes me to a story of playing with a lad with epilepsy, he played every game and fitted each time. we were kids trying to get on the reserve team and we just waited on him fitting and we got on. Once on the Falls Park while two games played side by side he fitted, before we knew it he was catching ball and running down the other pitch wit 30 confused players wondering what da fook was gong on

Cadogan must be one of the last remaining romantics if he thinks he can pull this off! The dilemma is he  is need more by the co hurlers than the footballers even though he is a better footballer than hurler! Sure if they had him from the start in AI football final last year it might have made all the difference!  On a larger scale there are clubs in Cork who still think they can be successful in both codes when a large number of players are playing both codes for the senior teams. Choose one and be successful at it! I was a co convention here in Cork a few years ago when the Douglas (Cadogan's Club) delegate  started complaining about the tough schedule that they had had that year. Their intermediate hurlers had reached the co semifinal and were beaten and their footballers had reached the co senior final and were beaten as well. They had around 7 or 8 maybe dual players! I  felt like saying to the Douglas delegate........."Hey there's a reason that you lost both games...too many games for the same players".  They had played for about 7 or 8 weeks in a row but to me that's the risk you run if you are competing seriously in both codes! It cannot be done  in my opinion! I mean it's a wonderful concept and good luck to Eoin Cadogan but push will come to shove sometime this year, sooner rather than later!!

we won both!!and we won it cause our lads were fit and getting competitive games. the last time our club got to Croke park 2006 we reached the county senior hurling semi final and were unlucky to lose to Loughgiel by 3 points. we had 8 players playing both. if its well managed then its achieveable

its just harder to do it at the highest level.

but i would encourage anyone to play both. i managed juvenile teams in hurling for years, while i had 15 to pick from the footballers had development teams from under 8 up!!!

we've had a great year as a Dual Club but fear the hurling will lose out on our footballers trying to get back to Croke Park again (at some point)

Mangers should realise that the dual player needs between both teams, if he's good enough let him play

very difficult to do it at club level nevermind county level.

we had a great season on both fronts but only came away with one title! our players are burnt out and tired at the minute, they could do with a season off!!
