Limerick travel to Nenagh on sunday in the first round of the national league

the team is as follows i believe

Murray (Patrickswell)
W Walsh (Murroe/Boher)
S Lucey (Croon)
D Reale (C) (Hospital/Herbertstown)
P Lawlor (Croom)
B Geary (Monaleen)
P O Dwyer (Kilmallock)
M O Brien (Glenroe)
D O Grady (Granagh/Ballingarry)
N Moran (Ahane)
O Moran (Ahane)
M Fitz (Doon)
Shox (Kilmallock)
S O Conner (Ahane)
B Foley (Patrickswell)

I would be hopeful for a victory, however after seeing Tipp beat cork in the waterford crystal cup earlier in January. it will be difficult. it has been a draw between these teams so often in recent years, so a draw could definitely materialise.

From the Hoganstand,

The most interesting selection is of Paul Kelly in the corner opposite to his brother.

Tipp bring in Ormonde and McGrath
14 February 2007

Paul Ormonde and Shane McGrath will make their first appearances of 2007 for Tipperary in Sunday's NHL clash with Limerick.

County under 21 star Danny O'Hanlon will make his League debut at full-forward as Babs Keating keeps faith in the forward line which lined out in the recent Waterford Crystal Cup Final against Cork.

Eamonn Corcoran makes a welcome return to the side at right half-back. The Toomevara panel members were not considered for this game following their defeat at the hands of Ballyhale Shamrocks last weekend.

Tipperary (NHL v Limerick) - Brendan Cummins (Ballybacon-Grange); Eamonn Buckley (Drom & Inch), Philip Maher (Borris-Ileigh), Paul Ormonde (Loughmore-Castleiney); Eamonn Corcoran (JK Brackens), Shane Maher (Burgess), Diarmaid Fitzgerald (Roscrea); Shane McGrath (Ballinahinch), Colin Morrissey (Galtee Rovers); Tony Scroope (Burgess), Darragh Egan (Kildangan), Lar Corbett (Thurles Sarsfields); Eoin Kelly (Mullinahone), Danny O'Hanlon (Carrick Swan), Paul Kelly (Mullinahone)

Might head up to this one. Should be a good prelude to the MHC.

youbetterbelieveit

ya AZ definitely.

however Limerick as still do a few decent players namely

Conor Fitzgerald, Seamus Hickey, Pat Tobin, Brian Begley and Mark Keane, all of whom are injured.

should be a good test for the Tipp lads with both teams probably itching to get at each other.

Will be very interested to see how the full forward line goes. Have great time for O'Hanlon since i first saw him underage. An ox of a man. His swing could do with a bit of work but he's a great target man. Himself and Lucey will go at each other hammer and tongs. With the 2 Kelly's either side of him it could be a deadly inside line. Definitley worth giving Paul a spin in this position. He's too loose for half back, midfield or half-forward and he knows where the posts are.

Interesting also to see how Buckley, Shane Maher and Scroope go. Always liked Buckley as a player. haven't seen much of Maher except against us last year when he started a brawl at the start of the match and was given the runaround by Redser before getting on top eventually.

Should be good plus there's the added bonus of enjoying a pint in Paddy Rohan's before and after. A must if ye're visiting Nenagh for the match.

Any of my Tipp brethern make it over to this DB?

Colombia, GMB, Lemon, HOH etc?

Is it correct that the Church men have a Mudjha in their ranks for '07?  ;D

youbetterbelieveit

welcome durlas, its a pity there isnt more of a hurling discussion on these boards.

ps whats a Mudjha?

AZOffaly

I think it's the Mujdahadeen from Mullinahone. I could be wrong though :D

Durlas, see the missing posters thread over on the non GAA stuff. We're wondering where the hell all the Tippboys are.

Not a bad old game for opening day.

The Naynagh boys had the field in good enough nick for this time of the year.

The game itself was tight and competitive but there were only traces of hurling in between long intervals of mullocking. This game was decided by as good a freak goal as you'll ever be likely to see, an incoming missile from Brian Geary clipped to the roof of the Tipp net by a combination of Ollie Moran and Shane Maher.

The first Limerick goal really dictated the flow of the game halting as it did the only period of sustained Tipp dominance. A good delivery from Paudie Dwyer, Andrew Shaughnessy burned Paul Ormonde with a turn and when he headed for goal it was good night vienna for the Tipp backs.

I thought Shane McGrath hurled well in midfield, Corcoran was his usual busting self. Larry was busy on the wing , The Baconman used his brisket beef rump to good effect, and if he can bet away from the trough from now on, we might have a centre forward option. Danny Hanlon deserved another day out, hope he gets the start against the Cats.

Tipp could have had at least three goals, Murray had a wonder game. Limerick half back dominance in the first half was pivotal. Peter Lawlor is a serious boost to them.

Again our half forward line looked a busted flush. Plus ca change.

Early days yet though.

yep have to say, a decent win for limerick, esp with the footballers winning aswell above in Fermanagh. so good weekend.

The most notable performance for limerick, MOM was Murray in goal, had a great game and saves probably three or four certain tipp goals. the half back of lawlor and o' dwyer were good and dominated alot and gave good low intelligent ball to the forwards whee shoxs trived on.

Always nice to beat the neighbours, but come the summer it will be a different battle.
