General discussion / Eating Habits
January 26, 2021, 03:41:07 PM
Anyone attempted to go plant based/vegan for a period of time?

Initially the wife wanted to try it for a month so I said I'd give it a go and see if I'd feel any better. Well 3 months on and we've kept it up apart from eating meet once over xmas and having a couple of eggs although I'm still eating fish. I'd been suffering from dizzyness/brain fog the last 4 years and the cold and damp weather would tend to bring it on but have not suffered at all since I changed my diet which I suspect is down to giving up dairy and eating more vegetables. I've definitely got more energy and those those sweet urges I used to have have disappeared.

There might be the odd occasion where I'll have the odd bit of meat or have an egg but definitely don't see us going back to eating meat or dairy daily.

For the first time in 20 years the loser is out, married to a Mayo woman so not the draw we wanted.

Not sure if we have a thread already for this but couldn't find one.

Donncha O'Connor called it quits over the weekend aged 37, couldn't believe it last year when Cork played Mayo when they said he was 36 whilst giving Cafferkey the run around. He didn't play minor or u21 and didn't make his debut until he 25 and would always have thought he was a bit underrated.

Someone was telling me the 2 people who've objected to the proposed data centre don't even life in Galway, anyone know if that is the case?

I've been watching football since 1987 and was racking my brains to think of who has given the best performance in a final during the time.

Naturally the two I remember most are Fallon in 98 and Joyce in 2001 although both had had average 1st halfs and it would be fair to suggest Joyce was poor by his standards. Fallon kicked 3 fantastics points whilst Joyce kicked 9 points in the 2nd half with 5 form play including a spell where he kicked all Galways 8 points in a row, it was the first time any player had scored more than a point from play on Darren Fay and he asked Mark O'Reilly to swap straight after Joyce's 2nd point from play.

So who else has given inspirational performances in finals that a huge impact on the result?

GAA Discussion / Laois v Galway 31/1/16
January 27, 2016, 10:39:33 AM
PP have Galway slight favourites at 10/11 with Laois at 11/10

Galway have had some bad results against Laois in recent years so its about time we changed that.

It will be a totally unrecognisable back line with probably 4 backs making their 1st league start. I don't think anyone from Galway will be going into the game feeling overconfident, will Laois have a similar team to last year or will there be plenty of new faces?
