Surely the can trace the signal? Or have I been watching too much NCIS?

Shoot the drones down FFS

They are not supposed to fly within 1km of airports or above 400 feet. Don't know how they would monitor this unless each drone was fitted with a tracking chip.

Supposed to have safety device fitted that will not let them fly near airports.  malicious or MOD?

I believe they can be fitted with that technology, but are not. So some ballbags thinks it's funny, 5 years if found, bet a few passengers would like to meet him or her

Shows it doesn't take much to bring infrastructure to its knees. These c***ts should be locked up for a few years. 700 odd flights grounded today, many of which are destined for Ireland.

I'd guess this is a well coordinated climate change protest. To keep an airport closed this long it is a well planned attack.

Can't see it being one guy doing it for the craic anyway.

Never knew so many people used Gatwick, I find it well out of the way.

LooseCannon

Shoot the f**king thing down.

Absolute joke that they can't deal with this. Imagine the chaos if there was a coordinated effort at multiple airports......can see the terrorists using this in the future.

I'm sure some trained birds of prey could take them out if their unwilling to shoot them down. It makes me think there is more too it than the authorities are letting on

Edit: without appearing like a conspiracy loon!!  ;)

Russia. Probably.

It would fit neatly with the trolling element of Russia's strategy.

Was the flying of the drones a deliberate act to cause mayhem, or just stupidity?

Well I think the fact they've appeared every few hours just before the airport was due to open again would point to it being deliberate... will be interesting to see if it's just a few c***ts or it's more sinister than that!!!
