Anyone see intermediate semi-finals on Sunday? Again we are blessed with an exciting championship.
Edendork held off a very spirited Tattyreagh comeback to book their final spot. Same with Gortin, who dug deep in extra time (again) to get over the line against neighbours Greencastle.
Gortin have probably had the tougher side of the draw, and will fancy their chances, but hard to look past Edendork as favourites in the final!

I have to give credit to the tatts for a very spirited come back from 13 down, cut the lead to 4 and even missed a goal chance and a few point opportunities. Very impressed with their never say die attitude against arguably one of the best intermediate teams the county will ever see.

Dungannon really missed a good forward in the championship game against Omagh, main reason they lost. Paul Donaghy will make a massive difference to that club, dungannon already on the rise but he will give them an even bigger boost. Him and Paddy Quinn playing inside will be a FF line with a serious aerial threat.

not too far off the ball with this one

Going to have to strongly disagree with this statement as they are still not going to get near contesting for a senior championship and Paul donaghey is extremely over rated if you watched him in club championship this year he was selfish and useless.

;D ;D Looking back at a few of the quotes from the brainiacs on this board is quite funny
That was never a square ball!!

Thought the no.7 Mc Kearney was unreal on Saturday night. Our county is absolutely bursting with talent. Nothing to touch the Tyrone championship.

The second game was vastly inferior to the first. Albeit the extra time certainly added more spice. You would have to fancy Trillick comfortably in a final. But the romantic in me would like Dungannon to get it done. Their hunger the other night was frightening, they even seemed to have a very vocal and passionate support.

I don't know what you would do with Errigal, to be fair I think they have been the worst hit by injuries. Yet for all the talk of their panel, it's just sheer numbers and not quality. The other night they lacked any bite or urgency. Surely after seeing Trillick in the final they would have been chomping at the bit for another nibble there, last year was embarrassing. I still think Errigal are a championship win from having a very successful period, but until that there will be serious head scratching in Dunmoyle.

Basing a "succesful period" on what?
"Sheer Numbers"?

Not good enough, will always be a league team as these sheer numbers keep them competitive on league terms. Come Championship when its the cream and best in the county, they contiue to sh!t in the nest and fail

This is the post:

I WISH TO START THIS BY WISHING A SPEEDY RECOVERY TO THE MULTITUDE OF PLAYERS AFFLICTED BY THIS SAME PARASITIC DEVIANCE IN OUR GAMES.
NO GAA PLAYER SHOULD COME HOME WITH A BROKEN JAW, A BROKEN NOSE, SEVERE FACIAL INJURIES OR INDEED A CONCUSSION FROM PLAYING OUR SPORT, BAR IN THE RARE CIRCUMSTANCE OF AN EXTREMELY UNFORTUNATE COLLISION, AND I CAN ASSURE YOU, NONE OF THE FORTHCOMING LITANY ARE ''UNFORTUNATE COLLISIONS''.
AS PROMISED, I INTEND TO LOG EVERY SINGLE GAME IN OUR COUNTY, OR NEARBY, WHERE THUGGERY AND LACK OF INTEGRITY IS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION, JUST SO WE CAN GET SOME SENSE OF HOW REPREHENSIBLE IT ALL REALLY IS...
I LAST POSTED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO.
SOMEHOW SOMEONE MANAGED TO GET THOSE VIDEOS REMOVED?
BEFORE ANY CLUB PROCLAIM INNOCENCE OR ATTEMPT TO JUSTIFY THIS, [AS THE CHAIRMEN OF A NUMBER OF CLUBS NOW HAVE] THIS IS NOT A DIG AT YOUR CLUB OR YOUR PLAYERS, BUT AT THIS DISGUSTING CULTURE WHICH HAS BECOME THE NORM!!
A CULTURE NO GENUINE SPORTSPERSON WISHES TO ENGAGE IN.
AND UNTIL THE UTTERLY DYSFUNCTIONAL DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM IS SHREDDED AND REWRITTEN WITH ADEQUATE SANCTIONS, WE ARE MERELY A LA HANS BRINKER...
SO SAVE YOUR PHONE CALLS TO ME, UNLESS YOU CAN SHOW ME SOMETHING SUBSTANTIVE WHICH YOUR CLUB HAS DONE TO AT LEAST ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THIS UP.
PRESENTLY ABSOLUTELY NO LESS THAN A THUG'S CHARTER WITH THE CREATION OF AS MANY LOOPHOLES AS POSSIBLE TO ALLOW ACTS OF THUGGERY TO GO UNPUNISHED.
COOKSTOWN V CASTLEDERG RESERVES, 06/09/2020, RES DIV 3; VIDEO SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. THE REAL SHOCKER FOR ME IS THE FACT THAT A COOKSTOWN PLAYER SUFFERED A BROKEN JAW PRECISELY ONE WEEK BEFORE THIS [DETAILED BELOW], BUT MAYBE THAT'S JUST ME...
SENIOR GAME HAD AT LEAST 3 SERIOUS ACTS OF THUGGERY ALSO.
FROM OUTSIDE OUR COUNTY:
CULLYHANNA V BALLYHEGAN, 28/08/2020, LADIES SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL IN ARMAGH; 2 VIDEOS DOING THE ROUNDS OF THE PLAYERS BRAWLING IN THE CLUBHOUSE AFTER THE GAME. ORIGINALLY IT WAS REPORTED AS THE 2 OPPONENTS, NOW IT TURNS OUT IT WAS CULLHANNA AMONGST THEMSELVES; AMALGAMATED CLUB.
KILCOO V BURREN, DOWN CHAMPIONSHIP, 31/08/2020; VIDEO FOR ALL TO SEE OF THUGGERY AT THE FINAL WHISTLE.
CARRICKMACROSS V LATTON, MONAGHAN SENIOR CHAMIONSHIP, 23/08/2020; ELDERLY SUPPORTER EXCHANGING PUNCHES WITH PLAYERS OVER THE PERIMETER FENCE. VIDEO WIDELY AVAILABLE.
BROCAGH V COOKSTOWN DIV 3 19/07/2020; FIRST GAME AFTER LOCKDOWN. ALMOST SLIPPED UNDER THE RADAR THIS ONE! BROCAGH CAPTAIN STRUCK IN THE FACE, SUSTAINS SERIOUS FACIAL INJURY, MISCREANT SENT OFF, APPEALS, SUCCEEDS, PLAYS IN SUBSEQUENT GAMES. DO NOT ASK ME HOW THIS APPEAL SUCCEEDED!!!
DROMORE V ERRIGAL, TYRONE SENIOR CHAMPO, 30/08/2020; REFEREE ATTACKED AND SHOULDER CHARGED BY A BUCK, PLUS A HEAP OF PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS AGGRESSIVELY CONFRONTING AND HARANGUING HIM. HAD TO BE ESCORTED FROM THE FIELD FOR OWN SAFETY. ALL SHOWN LIVE ON STREAMS. AND ON BBC SPORT.
BROKEN JAWS IN CONSECUTIVE DAYS!!
COOKSTOWN V DRUMQUIN, 29/08/2020; MATTHEW CARBERRY SUSTAINS BROKEN JAW IN AN OFF THE BALL ALTERCATION WITH DRUMQUIN GOALKEEPER.
Best wishes to our senior player Matthew Carberry who suffered a broken jaw in an off the ball incident today. Disappointing for Matthew's season to end in an incident which happened so far from the ball. Get well soon Matthew from all at the club.
EDERNEY V BELNALECK, FERMANAGH CHAMPIONSHIP, 28/08/2020;
FINBARR GILLEN SUSTAINS A BROKEN JAW IN AN OFF THE BALL ALTERCATION WITH HIS MARKER.
Everyone at Ederney St. Joseph's would like to wish Finbar Gillen a full and speedy recovery. Finbar underwent surgery yesterday for a broken jaw sustained on Friday evenings championship match following a sickening off the ball incident. Everyone is disappointed Finbar suffered such a serious injury and in the manner it occurred.
CASTLEDERG V STRABANE U14, AUG 2020; DESPICABLE EXAMPLES OF SPORTSMANSHIP AND BRUTISH COACHING BEHAVIOUR. PARENTS IN DISTRESS RAISED THE MATTER.
CASTLEDERG V DRUMQUIN ACL DIV 3 AUG 2020; DERBY GAME WHICH PRODUCED 3 VILE VIDEOS SHOWING 3 UNPUNISHED ASSAULTS, ONE A KUNG-FU KICK, AND A BRAWL.
STRABANE V OMAGH MINORS, 30/07/2020; [STATEMENT ATTACHED] OFF THE BALL PUNCH LEADING TO DAN HAIGNEY SUSTAINING A TRIPLE FRACTURE TO HIS JAW, PLATE INSERTED AND BOTH SIDES WIRED. HIS MUM, WHILST IN A&E, POSTED THE X-RAY AND THE MOST HEARTBREAKING MESSAGE YOU WILL READ ABOUT HOW THIS HAS AFFECTED THE CUB'S FAMILY, SIBLINGS, GRANDPARENTS AND TEAM-MATES. SHE INSISTED: ''THIS OBSCENE BEHAVIOUR NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. ZERO TOLERANCE.''
REF SENT THE CHILD WHO DID IT OFF, OPPONENTS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT ABUSING HIM THAN THE KID LYING IN SEVERE DISTRESS WITH HIS JAW IN BITS.
STEWARTSTOWN V GREENCASTLE, INTER CHAMPO; PLAYER RED CARDED FOR SHOVING AN UMPIRE, A SECOND FROM THE SAME TEAM ROADED FOR RUNNING THREATENINGLY AT THE REF AS A RESULT, AND CALLING HIM ''A USELESS f**king ****''.
COALISLAND V DROMORE; COUNTY PLAYER SENT OFF FOR THROWING HIS STUDS INTO AN OPPONENT'S FACE AS HE FELL WHEN CHALLENGED BY HIM, RESULTING IN A FACIAL GASH. THIS CHAP'S TEAM-MATE THEN DISMISSED BEFORE HE HAD EVEN LEFT THE FIELD FOR GRABBING BY THE THROAT AND HEADBUTTING ANOTHER COUNTY PLAYER.
DOWN TO 13 FOR 2 VILE ACTS. REF'S FAULT OF COURSE.
AGHYARAN V GORTIN; PLAYER BUSTED OFF THE BALL 10 MINS IN, NOSE BROKEN. OPPONENT UNPUNISHED.
MOY V KILLYCLOGHER; BRAWL, COUNTY PLAYERS AND THEIR BROTHERS BOXING, REPORTS OF PLENTY OF FENCE-JUMPERS, FACIAL INJURIES [PHOTO OF TIERNAN MCCANN'S FACE AFTERWARDS WIDELY CIRCULATED] AND LEGAL ACTION TO COME.
DUNGANNON V CARRICKMORE; ILL-TEMPERED, SPILLED OVER INTO BOXING MATCH IN THE CAR PARK AFTERWARDS. NO SUBSTANTIATED REPORTS OF INJURIES. BUT SOMEONE WILL BE SORE.
DROMORE V OMAGH; TEMPESTUOUS SENIOR GAME, AND THEN THE 2 RESERVE TEAMS DECIDED TO BOX, WHILST IN THE STAND WATCHING THEIR SENIOR TEAMS.
LOUGHMACRORY V MOY; COUNTY PLAYER DISMISSED FOR ''POUNDING'' A 'NOTORIOUS' PERPETRATOR OF THUGGERY, WHO ELBOWED HIM OFF THE BALL. BAD MISTAKE WITH THIS MAN.
TERMON V AGHYARAN; FRIENDLY. 2 SERIOUS BRAWLS INVOLVING ALL PLAYERS. GAME ABANDONED AFTER 2ND SUCH. 2 PLAYERS ATTENDED LETTERKENNY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WITH SUSPECTED CONCUSSION/HEAD INJURIES.
DRUMQUIN V CASTLEFINN; FRIENDLY. THUGGERY AND SCHEMOZZLES GALORE. NO INJURIES REPORTED.
RED HUGH'S V CASTLEDERG; FRIENDLY. OFF THE BALL THUMPS THE ORDER OF THE DAY. NO INJURIES REPORTED.
2 LOCAL CLUBS; MAJOR INTERNAL BUST-UPS AT TRAINING.
ONE RESULTED IN 2 BROTHERS EXCHANGING PUNCHES.
THE OTHER, 2 TEAM-MATES, ONE SUSTAINING A SERIOUS FACIAL INJURY.
ALL THESE ABOVE HAPPENED SINCE WE RETURNED FROM LOCKDOWN, IN THE SPACE OF LITTLE OVER A MONTH IN TYRONE GAA, AND NEARBY.
THIS IS SPORT? THIS IS FOOTBALL?
THE ONLY 2 SUCH I'M AWARE OF IN DONEGAL:
NEWTOWNCUNNINGHAM V NAOMH ULTAN; DONEGAL CHAMPIONSHIP. ONE LAD LOST 3 TEETH FROM A PUNCH, ANOTHER SUFFERED A CONCUSSION. BUT AT LEAST IN DONEGAL IT IS BEING HIGHLIGHTED AND MAYBE THIS CHAIRMAN WILL FOLLOW THROUGH, ALBEIT I DOUBT IT...
''When contacted this week, Naomh Ultan club chairman, Roger Meehan, confirmed the injuries and said: "We are going through the proper channels and waiting for the referee's report and we will decide how further we will take it. But we want to make it clear that Naomh Ultan will not be lying down when it comes to player welfare and we will be pushing it as far as we see fit."
BALLYSHANNON V SETANTA, MINOR HURLING GAME; 2 SETANTA PLAYERS ASSAULTED A BALLYSHANNON PLAYER AFTERWARDS IN THE CAR PARK. HE WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL DUE TO HIS INJURIES, AND THE GARDAI ARE INVESTIGATING.
I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEATING THIS DRUM AND EVERYWHERE I TURN IT'S OSTRICH SYNDROME.
AND I HAVE NOT MISSED THE VERY MANY HYPOCRITES WISHING PLAYERS WELL, WHILST RECENTLY HAVING PROTECTED THOSE IN THEIR OWN CLUB WHO'VE COMMITTED SUCH ACTS.
AGAIN, NOT ONE PEEP HAVE I SEEN OF ANY OF THESE IN ANY OF THE MULTITUDE OF TYRONE GAA MEDIA OUTLETS [SOME OF THEM WILL INDEED READ THIS AND SHY AWAY], AGAIN, APART FROM THE HAIGNEY ASSAULT, NOT ONE IOTA IN THE HERALD/CON/IRISH NEWS?
AS HAS BEEN ALLUDED TO, WE HAVE TO ASK AGAIN, IS IT GOING TO TAKE A FATALITY BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?

UPDATE RE THUGGERY IN OUR GAMES, NOVEMBER 2019:
'YOUR USUAL SUNDAY' THE CAPTION ADEQUATELY PROCLAIMS, AS OWEN ROE'S AND LOUGHMACRORY EXCHANGE PLEASANTRIES IN YESTERDAY'S PROMOTION PLAY-OFF. PROOFED VIA VIDEO.
THE PRINCIPLE MISCREANT IN THIS HAS NOW ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED 5 PLAYERS THIS SEASON, VIA PUNCHES, BITES AND SPITTING?
HIS REWARD?
A PLACE ON THE TYRONE PANEL.
AND IT'S NOW EVEN INFECTING GAA SCHOOLS MATCHES, AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THUGGERY SHOULD NOT EXIST, AS SACRED HEART COLLEGE AND LARGY COLLEGE FROM CLONES RECENTLY TOOK TO CHAPPING.
NOVEMBER 2019; DROMORE AND ERRIGAL BATTERING ONE ANOTHER IN THE DIVISION 1 LEAGUE FINAL, PROOFED VIA VIDEO.
4 STRAIGHT REDS DISHED OUT, A FURTHER DOUBLE YELLOW AND ONE TEAM FINISHED THIS GAME WITH 12 MEN.
SEPTEMBER 2019; ANOTHER INCIDENT VERIFIED RECENTLY INVOLVED A U16 GAME WHERE AN EDENDORK COACH ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED A DRUMQUIN U16 PLAYER AND THEN THE CUB'S FATHER ATTACKED THE EDENDORK COACH.
JUNE 2019, CASTLEDERG V GLENELLY: 'HANDBAGS' MANY OBSERVERS CLAIM; YET A MINOR PLAYER IS NOW AWAITING AN ENT SPECIALIST TO FIX HIS BROKEN NOSE FROM A PUNCH OFF THE BALL, NOT TO MENTION A FRACTURED GUMLINE AND 6 DISLODGED TEETH, ALL HELD TOGETHER IN A TEMPORARY SPLINT UNTIL HE SEES ANOTHER SPECIALIST FOR ANOTHER OPERATION, FROM A SEPARATE PUNCH OFF THE BALL, BY THE SAME MISCREANT...
JUNE 2019, AGHYARAN V GORTIN: PLAYER RED CARDED FOR STRIKING, YET SAID RED METAMORPHOZES INTO 2 YELLOWS?! IF THE MEN IN THE MIDDLE HAVE ZERO INTEGRITY, HOW CAN AN ALREADY DYSFUNCTIONAL DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM STAND ANY CHANCE?
JUNE 2019, STEWARTSTOWN V AUGHER: DESPITE THE SERIOUS INJURIES SUFFERED BY THIS PLAYER V LOUGHMACRORY, SAME AUGHER PLAYER TARGETED ONCE MORE WITH A BLATANT KICK TO THE FACE WHILST PRONE ON THE GROUND. AT LEAST THE REF WALKED THIS PERPETRATOR, OR DID HE!?
MAY 2019, LOUGHMACRORY V AUGHER: STAR FORWARD SUFFERS A CONCUSSION AND A BROKEN NOSE AS A RESULT OF THUGGERY OFF THE BALL, AS HE SHOOK HANDS WITH HIS MARKER PRE-GAME AND IN GOING FOR THE FIRST BALL, 10 SECS IN.
MAY 2019, BROCKAGH V KILDRESS: MUCH BRUTALITY, MOSTLY OFF THE BALL, MELEES, ALBEIT NO REPORTS OF ANY SERIOUS INJURES.
MARCH 2019, GALBALLY V GORTIN: MUCH BRUTALITY, MOSTLY OFF THE BALL, MELEES, ALBEIT NO REPORTS OF ANY SERIOUS INJURES.
#BEYONDCONTEMPT
DESPITE THE ONE PUNCH CAMPAIGN, DESPITE THE FACT WE HAD THE PSNI'S LEAD HOMICIDE DETECTIVE IN Garvaghey Centre- Home of Tyrone GAA IN RECENT WEEKS DELIVERING A TALK ON THE DANGERS OF ON-FIELD VIOLENCE, DESPITE THE FACT WE WERE QUIETLY BEGINNING TO THINK THIS SEASON WAS WELL IN WITHOUT ANY MAJOR ALTERCATIONS...
I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEATING THIS DRUM AND EVERYWHERE I TURN IT'S OSTRICH SYNDROME.
AGAIN, NOT ONE PEEP HAVE I SEEN OF ANY OF THESE IN ANY OF THE MULTITUDE OF TYRONE GAA MEDIA OUTLETS [SOME OF THEM WILL INDEED READ THIS AND SHY AWAY], AGAIN NOT ONE IOTA IN THE HERALD/CON/IRISH NEWS.

Don't know what he's trying to achieve.

Isnt it obvious what he's tryin to achieve, he's tryin to make people accountable and promote awareness on all the disgraceful incidents that are happening in Gaa games ie in recent times all the broken jaws that have happened in the past few week!!

I seen someone write that you get more of a suspension for pushing a ref than breaking some ones jaw with a dirty punch

Taylor

Taking the nonsense and the capitals out of it there is an important point in there somewhere.

However it is important to remember - this incidents have been happening forever in the GAA - and indeed it used to be worse in some instances.

The advent of social media means everything is visible.

This doesnt make it right but it does show it is not a new phenomenon

Some clubs mentioned more than others in that rambling,  any justification ??

No doubt that there are problems with violent actions being committed by some people (and being more predominant in some clubs that others), the amount of which that are beyond "isolated incidents" but nowhere near "epidemic level" but that eyesore load of CAPTAIN CAPSLOCK makes me just roll my eyes after a few lines and go "Okay Karen".

Besides, Facebook - 'nuff said.
