Thought himself and Shanahan had gotten off to a bad start. Maybe not.

There were all sorts of rumours Shanahan wanted him gone after this year. Maybe it wasnt Shanahans call though.

some scoring today- eagles were 35-0 with 10 seconds gone in the second quarter, now it's 42-14 unbelievable game...
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Capt Pat

The Eagles are potentially a very good team and the Redskins still have issues. They overpaid for McNabb, but it was still a good move for the team to get him for 5 years.

Jaysus,  Vick had some game last night.

6 TD's. 2 on the ground and 4 in the air. He certainly never was that good in Atlanta. There;s a number of factors to this though. He's obviously smartened up after getting sent down, Andy Reid is a much better coach than Jim Mora, was never convinced by Mora. Vick got to learn under McNabb for a year.

Still I'm happy to have Matt Ryan even if he has a fair bit to improve on.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Marty Morhinweg. Great QB friendly OC in Philly too. He has done wonders with Vick's decision making, etc.

Lovin Denver trouncing KC. If they keep this up it'll be one of the best bye weeks ever for SD!

And the Raiders! Going to the Bronco's game in December and there is hopefully going to be something to play for

Go Bears! Did the ould split shift sleep last night to see the game. Not a brilliant game unless you're a Bears fan. Miami had no offense at all and the Bears D and special teams are good so Cutler and his guys only needed to be adequate, which they were. Da Bears have quietly worked their way to 7-3 and even with a beast of a remaining schedule have a great shot at making the playoffs.

Did anyone see the hit Manning laid on Bess? Ouch!

Stayed up to watch this too, Miami couldnt move the chains to save their lives and as you said the Bears offense was adequate. Good test for their D next against Vick & the eagles, looking forward to that one to see how theyll try to shut him down or at least contain him...
Some hit by Manning on Bess, commentators described it as a hospital pass anyway, high over the middle, receiver has to jump up to catch it and is in for a pasting when he gets down. Was very surprised Bess got up straight away...

Capt Pat

Fell asleep watching that. I still beleive the Bears have a few too many holes to get anywhere, a lot of teams they played are falling apart, the Vikings, Cowboys, panthers, Dolphins etc. The Lions beat them in reality and the Packers should have too. Thinking of the games they have left they are not really a playoff calibre team, but They are jammy and will probably still get there.

Very interesting interview on sky sports last night, with the whole Rooney family proclaiming their desire to have a  regular season steelers match in Croker.
I suppose they will wait to see how Navy/Notre Dame goes in 2012.
What do ye reckon, would we fill Croke Park?
with all the american ex-pats and european fans from Britain Germany/Italy etc alongside the Irish fans,im sure we could.

Club Rossa

Kevin Cadle certainly wasn't impressed with Rooney's idea.

Chilly gets the boot in Minnesota. Signed a contract extension last year worth about $4m a year so he is laughing.

Had to happen. I've heard several respected NFL reporters on radio over there commenting on how his almost bizarre behaviour was nearly a cry for the owner to fire him.

Not quite bad enough to be fired 'with cause', but bad enough to get him his payoff. Cutting Moss 4 weeks after giving up a #3 pick for him, without even letting the owner know was not a career move.

Capt Pat

Chilly had to go. His lack of game management skills in tight situations cost us a superbowl. He built a great team and then ran it into the ground and will get morebthan 10 million dollars in compensation.
