Haven't saw our last 2 games so am wondering what is RoN doing differently now?
Is it that he's just scoring frees or is he moving the ball much faster?

I hope he reaches the levels we all hoped he would. He's still young lad isn't he.
He has great vision and is accurate but I often used to think he slowed the attack down too much.

On the basis of the Derry game, he seems to be much fitter and in better physical shape and willing to put in the work off the ball that he previously hadn't. Hopefully he can keep it up. Would be great if he can reach his potential.

Was at last 2 games & he is much leaner than previous years. His workrate is very impressive - have seen him a few times in his own full-back line cutting out opposition attacks. Free-taking very impressive against Derry & then he looked really sharp from open play against Meath, had his marker on toast any time the ball came in. Have to say I've been pleasantly surprised, hopefully his injury isn't severe - think it is his back.

Good to see some competition for places now too - not sure if McCurry is injured but there are now good options to come off the bench busting a gut to make an impression. MON kickouts were impressive on Sunday bar 1 streaky effort along the ground. With Morgan not taking the frees anymore he could struggle to be No1 come the summer

Hard to beat a bit of nostalgia in the build up to an Armagh v Tyrone game. http://youtu.be/m07it4_evog

Just watched that and how many times can a player fall for the dummy solo in one game...holy sweet Jesus. Who was the Armagh no 2?
LOL, yeah a solo dummy on the right & then lash it over with the left  ;D

Tyrone are promoted and I think it'll be a last day showdown between Cavan and Galway to see who joins them. Cavan at home so they are favorites to go up in my book.
As has been said above, the relegation battle is between 4 teams. Derry should be fine I think. Here's the remaining fixtures for all the candidates, their points and score difference.

__________Pts__SD____Fixtures
Fermanagh    4      -2         Galway (away) Tyrone (home)
Meath            3      -12       Derry (away) Laois (away)
Laois             3      -20        Cavan (away) Meath (home)
Armagh         3       -22       Tyrone (away) Derry (home)

It's very hard to call. I think Fermanagh, Laois and Armagh will lose their next round, Meath have a chance in Derry. Fermanagh will hope Tyrone are trying out players in the last round, the winnrs of Laois and Meath will probably stay up and Armagh have to hope Fermanagh lose both games as they lost to both Laois and Meath so would be relegated on head to head record.
I'd fancy Cavan now to get 2nd promotion slot - 2 home games against Laois & Galway. Fermanagh could be in trouble now having to play Galway away & Tyrone at home - could be stuck on 4pts. Meath & Laois play each other so likely 1 of those will get to 5pts. Armagh should be able to pull out a last day performance at home to Derry (especially if Derry have nothing to play for) & also get to 5pts. Was in Navan yesterday & didn't think Meath were that bad, certainly better than Derry looked in Omagh so I'd say Fermanagh & Laois to go down

Tyrone 4-11 , seems handy money ??
http://www.paddypower.com/bet/gaa-sports/gaa-football/nfl-division-2

Is that to top division or win the 'final" in Croke Park?
Has to be to win in Croker, they are guaranteed top spot as Cavan & Galway meet in the final round so can't both get to 10pts. In event of a tie on 10pts Tyrone would finish ahead of either as they've beat both already

The reality is that Ox and Walcott are shit. Are you're as good as your weakest link at that level. It's a sad chapter in Wenger's annals that he kept faith with those two fraudsters.

Agreed, had some hope for Ox but he's just Theo Mark2. His injury summed him up - racing away with loads of space but over-runs the ball & gets injured in the process. He's a headless chicken. No composure for the early chance either. Gunners should sell him, Walcott & Wilshere while they can still get decent money for them

The wet will not suit Tyrone and anyway who said it'll be wet? Tyrone will win this comfortably with 4-5 pts to spare. The only reason Laois have 2 pts on the board at this stage is they've played Armagh :P

All about opinions and you Sir could be right....

I just think it could be a decent game and I'm looking forward to going to see one of Ulster's finest in here in Portlaoise!

Just googled Portlaoise weather & it's just 2% chance of precipitation for Sunday afternoon. So hopefully will be a better game than Tyrone's opening 2 slogfests

Lads, bet365 do an offer on some of the champions league games, works out at a no lose bet.

Max is £50. They've got it on for Arsenal vs Barca tomorrow night.

You bet £50 prematch and they give you a risk free in-play bet at the same value.

So say prematch you do Barca double chance @ £50 - odds are shit at 2/11. As soon as the game starts you then bet arsenal to win @ £50 (currently 4/1).

So say Barca win or it's a draw - your £50 bet wins at 2/11 which returns £59. You also get your losing risk free in play bet returned. So your total £100 stake gets you back £109.

if Arsenal win, your in play £50 bet returns £250 (4/1). So your total £100 stake returns £250 so up £150.

This obviously works with any market that's a yes/no bet (both teams to score, under/over match goals, etc..._). Not going to make a fortune if the shit odds bet comes in but a chance at a decent priced winner

You're a 100% right but that's not their concern as they know majority of times they'll pay out a few quid but their aim for this type of betting is to suck people into gambling and get their money off them later on. I hate this shite as they're just suckering people to gamble in a no lose situation and people think "Feck this gambling is easy" and a year or two down the line they're hooked.

Aye, I know rightly that's what they're at. I posted a similar thing before the last world cup, someone was offering 3/1 that Brazil would wear yellow in their first match. Basically giving away a small amount of money (max bet was a fiver I think) in the hope you'll give it all back to them plus a good chunk more. I'm more than happy to take their money safe in the knowledge they'll not get more than a tenner a week off me

Or the bookie can block people from offers like this if they bet in such a way as to guarantee a profit, it's in their T&C's & PP blocked me from enhanced odds offers a few weeks back. If you are looking to use these offers do the other side of the bet with a different bookie, don't think they have the technology to trace that

Gerry won hands down.

Took Martin to town when he was moralising about the O6.

What did Fianna Fail ever do for the O6? They stood by obsequiously while a foreign military raised hell on Irish soil in a sectarian statelet they were complicit in a situation they allowed fester. It's hard to listen to a guy talk about matters in the O6 when his party have no interest in them.

Fianna Fail were a party that introduced internment, so it's hardly surprising they are a bit warped on justice.

What whiskey or indeed whisky are you drinking !

I think it's the height of hypocrisy for politicians from the 26 who have no presence in the O6 to try and point score off The Troubles. They had a huge part to play in how the conflict festered and escalated and did absolutely nothing to intervene of protect the northern nationalists. They have never bothered to attempt to unearth the truth about the Dublin and Monaghan bombings but were willing to lock up republicans without a trial or any evidence.

Their party is shamed with interning republicans, sending them to death squads and allowing prisoners to starve themselves to death. The taste of power made them lose any sense of social conscience.

They have some f**king cheek to call themselves a Republican party, they have some bizarre interpretation of justice.
Agreed, Burton pissed me off the most, constantly heckling & making sly one-liners to Adams re what SF are doing in the North - when her party in government ignored the situation in the North for the last 5 years

Can you imagine the stupidity of BBC not reporting on France v Italy in the 6 Nations, because it does not involve teams from the UK.  Of course it would not happen, it wouldn't make sense.

Why then are the BBC afraid to tell us that Roscommon beat Kerry or that Dublin beat Mayo.  Why are they afraid to call the competition by it's correct title 'The National League'

Why after all these years is Gaelic Games still on crackly Medium wave which is shit reception at best, no reception at worst.  Also there is  nothing on on FM anyway.
RTE are a joke too - talked about rugby from 2.00 whilst NFL games in full swing. They occasionally went for score-checks to the div1 games but just read out the scores for other games. Then full commentary for 2 hours on rugby game. I turn on rte2 now & rugby still on til 6!! 4 hours coverage for 1 game. Then tonight they shoe-horn a full NFL programme of games into 1 hour. It's a bloody disgrace & gaa should take note when negotiating future TV rights

Problem is Heganboy, you aren't looking at it objectively.

I wholeheartedly agree!

while a few of the names you mention are close to the level I was (blindly) hoping for, not all, for me, would count. Ozil, Di Maria and Sanchez are definitely recognizable names and are of the global names level that Liverpool would do well to recruit, though Ozil maybe the only unqualified success. Liverpool's recent transfers have been at best tier 2, though more tier 3 if we are removing the blinkers. Klopp clearly has the name to attract players that Brendan did not, but those key players will be hard come by. The summer will see what we have in store for the next few years...
So you don't consider Sanchez a success?? He's just back from 10 games out injured yet still has double-figures in terms of goals for the season. Himself & Ozil hopefully now leading Arsenal on a title-push, something that's a pipe-dream for Liverpool

Had a go at naming a 1st choice XV for the NFL below assuming no injuries or suspensions (apart from Ronan McNabb who is more long term injured) – lads in brackets would be back-up options in the 26 man squad

In practice you'd be hoping some of the younger lads get plenty of chances to play e.g. McGeary or Hampsey this weekend if McCarron is suspended or McShane for Sean or Bradley if they're not fit. There's a bit of quality & depth in that squad, would be great to get another midfielder to start alongside Colm & so free up Mattie

And if McGeary or Hampsey were anyway decent they'd move ahead of McCrory for 1st choice corner-back

Morgan (Fox)

McCarron (K McGeary)
McNamee
McCrory (Hampsey)

R Brennan (Sludden)
Justin McMahon (Joe McMahon)
Harte (T McCann)

R Donnelly (C McCann)
C Cavanagh (McNulty)

M Donnelly (HP McGeary)
Bradley
Meyler (McShane)

McCurry (L Brennan)
S Cavanagh
McAliskey

Well, well, can't wait to hear holier than thou, we play the game in the "right way" jim Gavin after that. 1 red, 2 blacks, numerous yellows & McMahon diving down holding his face when not even touched. Would you say the Dubs were a tad cynical?

And Sean is hit by McManus & Sean is criticised for going down easily???? Incredibly biased stuff & sadly the majority watching take this on as their opinion.

COR calling for the CCC to take action is some irony considering the antics the teams he played on got up to

Just back in from a few celebratory beverages after Tyrone's fantastic performance today. Not surprised to see the normal media-inspired abuse against Tyrone from mindless idiots who can't come up with an opinion for themselves. Noticeable too how much of the outcry comes from the keyboard warriors during the game I.e. are obviously not at the game themselves - these great Gaels streaming the game on their laptops whilst simultaneously spouting vitriol against Harte & his team really are the lifeblood of the association...

Anyway, Kerry next. All u haters can console yourselves with the thought that they will put Tyrone in their place - just like all the pundits predicted Monaghan would do today!

1st time posting though I've been a voyeur for a while. Looking forward to 1st visit to Thurles 2mro. Game should be an interesting clash of styles. I'd agree that Tyrone are sticking to a system regardless of the opposition - there were 2 sweepers against Meath until Brennan went off - so thereafter Tyrone were much better going forward but very open at the back. I'm not sure if we can have both! I would like to see some more adaptability though - Meath were there for the taking early on, Tyrone had the wind - there was no need for 2 sweepers then - an early blitz could have finished the game as a contest.
It seems it all harks back to the night in Croker when Connolly destroyed Tyrone in the 1st half - Mickey was slated then for going man-to-man & seems determined to not let that happen again. It might keep u competitive against the good teams but also results in games against inferior opposition turning into dogfights.
Anyway can't really argue with the team 2mro - a nice settled look to the defence. Only issue I'd have is re McShane, is he still injury-affected? He reminds me of a young Sean Cavanagh & these qualifier games would be ideal for giving him valuable championship experience.
