There's always an over reaction when United get beat, Fred has his limitations but he's had a good season but he hasn't been great in the last few weeks which can be put down to been over played and I don't think its coincidental that his performances suffer when he's partnered with Matic.

We could be here all day discussing what United potentially need but I think Haaland has to be the no 1 target this summer; If Martial was producing performances likes he did in the 2nd half of last season then I'd likely say centre half but he's not and he's been woeful since the start of the season. Haaland too is one of the best players in the world already and is only 20 and will make a huge difference to this United side.

Who knows whether Ole is the answer but to this date probably deserves the chance to be backed this summer but lets see what the rest of the season brings first. Last summer it was clear United needed players who were good enough for the first 11 and that hasn't materialised so its fair to say the Glazers can't be trusted to back the manager this summer. Then there's the Pogba issue, I suspect he's happy to run down his contract so the best United can hope for is potentially a swap deal with Varane who's in a similar situation to Pogba; Would Varane be as enthusiastic as Pogba, no chance.

Do Utd have the players to play the ball out from the back? If they don't, why the f**k do they try it? I'd like to see a stat on goals given away from doing just that. Keeper kick the f**king ball up the park, let the forwards try and break it down for the midfielders ffs!

Or throw it to the wingers

McTominay has really improved in that department and hasn't made too many mistakes. Fred unfortunately has a mistake in him but look at Pogba and how many times he gets caught in possession. I think its worth the gamble, its not led to that many goals this season.

Maguire is excellent at bringing it out, if he can get a partner who's as comfortable as he is then it will make a difference. Wan Bisaka clearly limited on the ball but he has shown some improvements but given the demands of this season its difficult for the coaches to spend as much time as they'd like to on the training pitch.

Had a look at the 2011 census, 10.3% of Catholics considered themselves to be British whilst 26.9% considered themselves to be Northern Irish; It will be interesting to see how that differs from 2021 census which has just finished.

Its probably been discussed earlier but is the huge budget deficit in the North going to be an issue?

Daily hospital admissions in England below where they were when we came out of the 1st lockdown according to the world of twitter although I could only find statistics going back to August.

Are you going to put up all the healthy people round Europe who have been hospitalised with covid without taking an vaccine as a comparison?

The anti-vaxers are so far entrenched they will cling to anything to support their viewpoint. The absolute state of some of the recent posts. Rightly scorned now as I'm sure the modern anti-vaxers once poured scorn on the 'traditional' anti vaxers.

I'm not anti-vax. Once again you try and misrepresent anyone with a different view to you as a lunatic.

The concerns are real on this, in Norway they have concluded that vaccines were the cause of death of young, fit and healthy people. That's what the head of the Norwegian hospital has concluded.

Now are you going to label the head of a hospital as an anti-vax lunatic because they disagree with your bigoted viewpoint.

People have a right to have concerns on this vaccine and people like you who try to demonise people who express to concerns are an absolute blight on democracy and functional society.

Maybe tell the families and friends on those people that have died in Norway, Sweden and Austria now that they are anti-vaxxers because they have developed concerns as a result of what has happened.

The crass and ignorant arrogance off your post says it all about you.

I'm surprised Norway have got as far as vaccinating their young and healthy, they must be leading the way in Europe considering the UK still hasn't got to the under 50's yet.

300 years after it was first promised, today it seems that the club have actually appointed a Director of Football.

Well, a 'Football Director' - maybe that's the same thing? Darren Fletcher also given a bump. Hopefully signifies an intention to change how the club goes about recruitment. Matt Judge still there, though.

About time, nothing short of shambolic the way the club has been run since Fergie left; In fairness since Ole came in at least there's manager there who appears to see the bigger picture when it came to player recruitment.

A big summer ahead, as long as United make the CL and with the return of fans next season then United financially will be a in position to sign someone like Haaland and a top centre half although can't say I have any faith in it happening. I've watched a fair bit of football the last year and can't say there's too many centre half's who look that impressive.

Seen it time and time again but the pen Porto won should not be a pen, they shouldn't be given; Thought the ref was very poor all night.

Listening to 'Fletch' and 'Sav' was very painful. Thankfully the game made up for it.

No chance Klopp getting sacked but it might be getting to the stage where he'd considering stepping down.

I can't see Liverpool giving the manager much to spend in the summer if there's no CL football which I assume is going to come as a total shock to the owners, doubt they can believe what's gone on.

In fairness it's a really poor Arsenal squad, they've only a few players who'd make a Leicester team and think you could make a case Everton best 11 is better then Arsenal's.

Arteta doesn't seem to get any stick from Arsenal fans yet Emery appeared to be hounded by them, they've a lot of faith in him and have no idea where that comes from.

That United back 4 sat far higher up then the pitch then they have done previously in the bigger games for longer periods, there were signs of it last weekend against Chelsea too in the 1st half. The narrative seems to be United just counter attacked which is incorrect, United did plenty of pressing and they didn't just let City's defenders/midfield stroll out with it. Apart from Sterling who's a wide player City didn't have the pace or power to get in behind United which really suited United's centre halfs who were both superb in general play although Lindelof again got caught twice with crosses over his head, both which would have been cut out by a centre half who's good aerially.

As for Henderson it was great to see our keeper come and collect set pieces instead of punching everything which De Gea does, took the pressure of on several occasions.

United were far from excellent in the final 3rd, on several occasions they should have put a move together to test Ederson but failed too. Great result though and Ole deserves more credit for his tactics, United were brave yesterday. We've been here several times before though so won't be getting carried way.

I didn't think we needed a centre forward at the beginning of the season but Martial has gone backwards and Greenwood is still learning, Martial was starting to look the part in the 2nd half of last season but has been woeful since this season began. If United can get Haaland then they've got to go after him.

Different approach yesterday to a big game and United pressed hard mainly in the first half, lacked quality when it mattered most though; Far too many poor passes or touches when United had a chance to really get at Chelsea. Will be interesting to see what he does against City next Sunday.

As for the pen, diabolic decision not to award it. Since Klopp had his moan United have been on the receiving end of 4 really poor decisions.

Very poor first hour from United, as usual very poor defending set pieces and crosses but its no surprise when one centre half is hopeless aerially and Wan Bisaka & Matic aren't much better given their size. De Gea again culpable for the goal, he should have saved it, he got of lightly with the pundits.

Not good enough from Martial, he's been poor since the start of the season just doesn't look interested at the moment. On a positive not good to see James have a good week, he's clearly not good enough for United unless he improves  but he's giving United an option which is badly needed given how many games United could have between now and the end of the season.

Lets hope McTominay & Cavani are back for next Sunday, they'll be needed.

Some development from Haaland, hard to believe someone this good at 20 as so under the radar at 17.
