The Armagh forum is great because there is an app version. I have found myself using this one less as a result

Spare a thought for the long-suffering Armagh fans.  Not only do they have to witnesses the shocking standard of football their county team has on show, but now they'll be forced to watch replays of it! :o

Considering Crossmaglen are in the Armagh final; after having won 6 All Irelands, the replays will be showing one of the greatest club sides to have played the game - hardly a shocking standard of football!

Idiots who say something along the lines of typical GAA whenever a big game is draw, or Ref played for a draw and they dodn't even watch the game!!!

Funny you should say this. A friend of mine from England who loves cricket said something to me along those lines this morning about yesterday's draw. My reply was 'unlike cricket were you get rained off and with no play the match is declared a draw'. His response was 'Touché'

Pundits using the word 'alluded'.  >:( >:( I have heard it used before but not to the extent it is used in GAA conversations. Worst offender is Micky Harte. It even annoys me having to use it in this post but I needed to in order for me to get my point across!!

I suppose if they win she'll be complaining she can't get a ticket for the final.

I hate these fair weather supporters. They don't go to the early games and then expect tickets for finals... typical!!

GAA Discussion / Re: Did Referee favour St Brigids

The defeat should be taken on the chin.

When the shoe is on the other foot; teams are told to wind their necks in. Two soft goals, chances missed, etc means that the chances were there to win/draw the match. The referee wasn't involved in any of that.

Time wasting at the end? Cross are masters of this tactic when they are in front with a couple of minutes to go.

They were great champions but threads like this take away from St Brigids' great achievement. Let them have their day in the sun instead of sounding like sore losers

The Minor Ulster club is a strange one too, good competition. But setting the Semi final on a Stephens day is strange. Same every year.

At least let young lads enjoy xmass, Its run late in the year as most County Championships would have finished around October. Know if i was a Minor I wouldn't be a happy chappy training through Christmass, even it meant a place in a Ulster Final.

Whenever I was a minor in the 90's we played the Semi final on St Stephen's day. It was a brilliant experience and none of our players complained about not getting "out" on Christmas night. Unfortunately we lost that day but the players who were eligible the following year were chomping at the bit to get back there. The club eventually won it in the 2000 season and the majority of players; including boys who went on to play for Armagh, still say that it was a highlight of their playing days.

Donegal will suffer if he takes both. So Celtic will win out I expect.

Also he may find working with the uneducated money hungry upstarts that soccer generally produces who largely dont give a rats arse about anyone bar themselves a far harder proposition then players who play for the jersey.

considering hew will be working with the youth squads he may well have a hand in stopping such developments in the players. And as for "uneducated", behave yourself

They dont really finish school so they are largely uneducated. I dont blamehifor taking the gig I definitely would. But I wouldnt kid myself thinking I could manage a county team too.

Donegal will struggle next year as the lack of football skills in the team will be exposed if the ravenous hunger and tactical appreciation he gave them falls by the wayside in his abscence

I dont know many professional footballers to be honest but the two Keane lads at united have got a full set of, good, GCSE grades. Michael has got good AS grades also, I know, I taught him. Im sire plenty of others have similar. Also, Im sure there are a lot of people who have not really finished school but are more educated than me or you. Two stereotypes you made in your post mate

You teach people? You should mark yourself down for spelling mistakes!!

Aaron Kernan punched a man in the bake twice right in front of us in the first, they were tame enough to be fair, but as Eamon Coleman used to say........ The JP/aherne tackle was poor stuff, other than that it wasn't that major.

I'd agree Cross were poor, Jamie made all the difference, the 3rd goal broke Ogs spirit, up until that point i thought they were much the better team.

Tell JJ that !

How exactly did JJ break his jaw? I heard something about it in the club last night but didn't want to mention it here until I got my facts right.

Yeah, i think this is a fairly straightforward decision. Destination Newry has rightly gotten a fantastic response to their coverage of games. They advertising they could build around this could be very lucrative indeed. Already people are sitting in the house to watch rather than going to games.

The county board are concerned with loss in revenue and i guess the logic is that they need to at least recoup that figure to "sell" coverage. As much as we all love this initiative there's no way i'd be allowing it free gratis. It's The county board's most usable product and should be treated as such.

I agree but they left it feckin late to start negotiating as I mentioned earlier. This should have been a trial and then use it next year to start pulling money in. What will happen next year is that they will get some eijit in who will do a half arsed job with it and it will fall on it's face. A couple of years ago they Jerome Quinn making up highlights packages and interviewing someone after the game. The following year they done it themselves by the looks of it but the quality was not half as good and the thing fell by the wayside.

They should have stuck with the people who have the know how and do it right. Quality brings advertisers and sponsors in. If it isn't being done right the won't want to put the money into it
