Never had to do it but if I had to I would follow these instructions first.

If you accidentally set iPod to use a language you don't understand
You can reset the language.
1 Press and hold Menu until the main menu appears.
2 Choose the fifth menu item (Settings).
3 Choose the last menu item (Reset All Settings).
4 Choose the second menu item (Reset) and select a language.
Other iPod settings, such as song repeat, are also reset.

The ipod and pc is a kind of fundamentalist christian islamic marrraige.
Have you found out yet how to do it? Or did you wipe everything out, taking no prisoners?

If iTunes recognises it, then its an ipod. That's the equivalent recognition of a mother to a new born child.

If you are sending it back then okay do it.
Its not the most sensible item to buy if its a second hand model, battery and hard drive have a varying limited lifespan and instant failure with a hard enough knock.
If you are keeping it then do the simple things first. Treat it as you would a hard disk and reformat the drive by
restoring and updating it in iTunes.

Apple has confirmed that its much-anticipated iPhone product will launch on 29 June in the USA.

The date was given in a series of TV adverts broadcast on Sunday 3 June, and was later confirmed by a spokesman for the California-based company.

The device, which combines the features of a mobile phone and personal digital assistant, will sell for $499 (£251) and $599, depending on configuration.

The phone's much-touted feature is a completely touch-sensitive interface.

The adverts on Sunday showed off several of the gadget's features, including surfing the net, watching videos and scrolling through e-mails using a finger as a pointer.

They ended with the news that the phone would be available "Only on the new AT&T" and "Coming June 29".

The product is one of the most highly-anticipated devices ever made by Apple and was announced last January at MacWorld in San Francisco by the firm's chief executive Steve Jobs.

His unveiling of the device managed to overshadow one of the world's largest technology conferences, CES, which was being held at the same time in Las Vegas.

Apple hopes to grab a slice of the global mobile phone market, which dwarfs the market for MP3 players, of which it is the dominant player with the iPod.

It hopes that the phone's multi-touch display, and ability to work with its iTunes music and video store, will make the device attractive to consumers.

A release date for Europe and the rest of the world has not been given.

I got an ipod last week... at long last some would say.

Put a few albums on at the weekend.

Why are some songs skipping and why have one album disappeared after one day?

I have an Ipod nano 4GB - however the PC with Itunes installed has stopped recognising it. When I connect the Ipod it doesntl show up on the PC as a separate drive  or in Itunes.

I have tried 'add new hardware' and this doesn't find it either.

Help wanted please..................

Ziggy, what you need to do is turn the computer off. Go and watch tv or take a nice walk. Try and forget about the board for more than 5 minutes. Leave the mobile phone out of the road as this will only tempt you. Good luck, we are all in full support of your battle to beat the board. ;)

I can't walk.....
