Quote from: markl121 on February 21, 2024, 03:55:36 PMJust watched all of Yellowstone, 1883 and 1923 in a week. What a show. I just want to move to Montana now

they need to hurry up and finish off yellowstone
Aye think its November, then there's season two of 1924, 6666 and possibly a 2024?
Sci-fi?
to do with one of the ranches featured in the show I believe. the sixes ranch, based on a real life ranch

Had heard they were going to do a spin off for the 6666 ranch alright. that would be interesting.

I'm struggling for TV shows at the minute. Anyone watched Shogun?

GAA Discussion / Re: Division 2 2024

Quote from: illdecide on March 06, 2024, 09:02:39 AMWell let's call a spade a spade...Cavan are not and shouldn't have been a division 3 team. They're at their level now which is in or around the top end of division 2. If both Armagh and Cavan play to their strengths then I'd have Armagh the slightest of favourites and I mean a point or two so that's how I rate Cavan. Based on that anything can happen on the day and whoever gets that wee bit of luck, we're at home and that is def worth a couple of pts to Armagh and based on that I'm going for 2-3 point win for Armagh. If this game was in Brefni I'd be worried...

I dont think Armagh have played the full hand yet in the league. For large parts of games they seem to be going through the motions.  The Cavan game would need much more focus considering it's importance at this stage. I'd still be slightly worried that we arent yet where we need to be and Cavan will certainly be very dangerous.

Quote from: J70 on March 05, 2024, 05:26:50 PMBecoming more and more impressed with Niblock and Oisin's podcast, especially the midweek one. Listening to the one with Donal McAnallen and Kevin McCloy at the moment, following closely on from the Frank McGuigan one a week or two ago and some of the ones last year. He's a superb interviewer, Niblock, and gets all these prominent GAA personalities to really open up about their opinions and real lives.

Can't-miss listening for me.

In the midweek one, I sometimes wonder what the point of Oisin is?

A foot in the door?

Quote from: J70 on March 05, 2024, 12:13:52 PMMiss You is an interesting one.

I remember back in the 90s, it was looked back on in the music press as almost as an embarrassment, like "what the hell were they thinking?" dabbling in a short term trend like disco.

Then at some point in recent years it became cool again.

I always liked it, especially when I sing it to annoy my kids!

I missed the anti disco talk thankfully. Big fan of the emotional rescue album too. Bought it on vinyl recently.

Quote from: Onthe40 on March 01, 2024, 04:01:44 PMOmagh beat Dungannon in the McGrath semi today, into another final..... jet

Omagh is the strongest at that age group.  The play a decent Abbey team in the final but they'd be expected to win.

Quote from: statto on February 29, 2024, 09:29:30 AMIs there no academy graduates who could do a job at left back?  Shaw/Malacia always injured and look so lopsided when Dalot/Lindelof play there.  Lindelof is poor in natural position and brings nothing going forward.  Reguilion was a disaster, Spurs couldn't wait to ship him on again.

The signing of AWB for £45million was more poor business, given that the recruitment team should have been aware of his frailties going forward and knowing that United would be expected to dominate possession particularly at OT.

I read or heard that before they signed AWB they looked at something like 80 different RBs.

10 fold... "He was #MUFC's top pick from a database of 804 right backs"

804 right backs! And AWB tops your list. Scouting team must be a bunch of bluffers

The debt here is staggering. What is the point of starting out working life like that? Youd need to be earning some wage afterwards to make this worthwhile.

Quote from: AustinPowers on February 28, 2024, 10:44:35 AMI find it very strange that  Norn Iron  still play GSTQ/K at all , considering Wales and Scotland are very comfortable belting out their own  anthems

What is their alternative?  Ive heard Oh Danny Boy mentioned. It would put ya to sleep and sure they cant even agree on the name of it.

What is Dune like? The 2nd one is coming out soon and I like the look of the trailer but I haven't watched the 1st one. I tried reading the 1st book about a year ago but gave up on that.

Absolutely cheapest borrowing you'll ever get, but it's still a debt.

its 6.25%. I have been qualified 8 years now and been repaying, I just checked there and I still owe 27k. I borrowed 26607. So I owe more than I borrowed. I'll be paying 200 quid a month until the 30 years is up.

Is there a year limit on these loans?

It is pretty generous all things considered.
In the spirit of generosity I think the GAA should increase their contribution to reflect inflation since the original budget and put maximum pressure on the British.

That seems like the right thing to do.

Jarlath on the ball soon

Maybe not
