Only a fool would say it three times I tell ya!

City will look to get back on track and see out the league and FA cup now, no distractions and do the four in a row.

Was told this before yes. People seem happy to pay money for a pizza that they wouldn't pay for say a Chinese or a chippy.

Mate bought the stove and all the malarkey that goes with it.. not worth the hassle, its far cheaper to order

I have the wee silver mini fat fryer, grand for goujons fish bites and chips. Stays in the garage

Have the Ninja and while its handy for roasties and other things I don't use it that much, love cooking, so generally be at the hob

The price of a take away is through the roof, recently ordered an Indian (I'll not say how much it cost in case Frank says I'm boasting ;)  ) and they have put their prices up since I last got one, though that was a good while ago

Quote from: marty34 on April 17, 2024, 12:28:48 PMShane O'Donnell and Adam Hogan great at 'winning' frees this way.  Raising their hands high in the tackle and the ref. gives them a free.

Some players, two in particular in Antrim play in a forceful forward combative way that try's to draw frees, they ain't charging but I can see how a ref may feel player is being infringed, but that's their style. Play on for me

Nothing beats a good fish supper with whatever trimmings you have with yours (fond of a tub of curry on mine)

But its a lot cheaper to make the stuff yourself! Good batter mix and fish of choice and throw it into the deep fat fryer. Fire some cut spuds into the air fryer and jobs a goodin!

Very rare I get to the chippy nowadays unfortunately, but the prices are through the roof

Quote from: Dag Dog on April 16, 2024, 10:55:18 AM"Hurling referees have been advised to be mindful of players ducking into tackles in an attempt to win frees. Examples of recent league games were provided to officials of decisions going in favour of those who were simulating the fouls.

Across both codes, referees have been given the following checklist to factor in when considering to send off a player for a head-high tackle: if a contact is made to opponent's head, if the opponent has no opportunity to protect himself, if contact/impact is excessive or causes injury, if the elbow/forearm/shoulder is part of the contact, if the player making contact jumps or has been two feet off the ground, if the player making contact had a realistic alternative by way of challenging opponent and to the direction and distance covered by the player who makes contact."

It's going like rugby that players must have a 'duty of care' to other players in the tackle.

That's a good thing in my opinion. Anything hit around the head is dangerous.

You'll be looking for mitigating circumstances etc etc as well now  ;D

Been saying this for a while now, players have a duty of care, granted and currently there are pitches out there that do not lend themselves to preventing lads sliding in or slipping underfoot that may cause 'accidental' albeit fouls still, but applying common sense  ;)  should help

From your experience if someone has the ball and is faced with a defender standing with their arms and hurl out, player in possession of the ball dips down and the arm/hurl of the defender is now around their neck and head, do you give them the foul or do you play on?

It really depends on how I feel that particular incident happens, while I'm not or should be judgmental of certain players but having been around the block as a player and ref for so many years I think I'm a good judge on intent, accident, looking for a free or basically someone being stronger and preventing someone from getting by .

Thats my call, only one whistle and I've got use my experience on it. Fine lines though

Quote from: theskull1 on April 17, 2024, 07:41:46 AMIts was the motorized valve when I had the same symptoms ..... have you something like this on the pipework going into the hot water tank?

https://www.screwfix.com/p/honeywell-home-40003916-001-2-port-v4043h-replacement-powerhead/326fv

Was an easy fix (no plumber required) in my case

## Before I got my hands on the replacement part I remember removing it from the pipework so I could manually open the valve to allow hot water into the tank but you'll need to be mindful about closing it again at some point when the water is hot enough (take picture of the close position before doing it)

Not sure, that fecker was up at the streak of dawn using all the water before waking me up to have a look, she sort of noticed last night saying the water was not as warm for he bath, but the heat came on and I was saying should be grand!!

There is water in the tank up in the loft

I can't find where that valve would go tbh, could it be in the garage where the boiler would be? Did a quick check before leaving for work! Nothing jumped out at me to resemble that.

Johnny that image looks the pump at boiler in garage. I'll look later

Sure an aul country cold shower does ya no harm  ;D

Before it cost me a few bob, no hot water in house, oil based heating, radiators on and pumping, water tank in attic full, not sure if thermostat on boiler is the problem, but video mentions diverter valve?

Can't locate it, not in hot press area I don't think or at piping under stairs. Any other locations?

Been trying to get a plumber, feck any plumber for past few months for few jobs around the house, but availability is few and far between

Personal highlight was when he was doing the analysis of the Arsenal game and he kept having to ask the score in the game  ;D

I would be hoping he wasn't relying on a media career.

I'd say its grand having a chat with your mates about football, completely different when there's a mic shoved in your face and knowing there would be millions watching lol!

In fairness I think for him he hasn't actually done any research on anything lol.. He'd no idea about certain games and seems as if he doesn't watch that many either.

Jamie is completely clued in and a veteran of doing this, the professionals make it look easy

I'd expect as bare minimum to know the score in the game  ;D

That many goals going in I lost count

That will be some u-turn for him, but maybe a sign that LIV are going to win eventually.

Does LIV provide an actual work life balance in this sport?

What happened to the merge

Quote from: Tones on April 16, 2024, 10:22:00 AMYears ago a guy in work left as Joe on a Friday and came back few weeks later as Joanne, mail went round in the intervening period to explain what was happening, to be respectful etc. words like inclusion, diversity, equality etc were rightly within the mail.  It was all rather surreal as Joe he was 6'4 in his 40's married with kids (marriage ended with the change), after some time took 6 months leave and then came back to a different office.  As liberal minded as anyone could be to see someone - especially so tall - whom you worked with for years walk in to the office in heels, a dress, some sort of false boobs, a wig, makeup and a handbag turned heads!

Do you think he took the easy option or just wanted to piss people off? (This is not directed at you btw Tones)

Remember years ago watching an interview about a fella that struggled with his sexuality, he was gay but hid it for so long as the alternative would be far worse due to the way society viewed difference.

Verbal and physical abuse  was standard, so can you imagine what it must be like to make that change?

I can understand why so many people try and have a 'normal' life as that is the easier option on the outside but christ it must be a mental struggle keeping up appearances

Trans is a thing, are people sometimes abusing it for themselves? Yeah absolutely. But I wouldn't wish whats going on in their heads to my worst of enemies
