Does anyone remember that white wheat beer Guinness used to make?

Breó

Where chatting about it last night, none of the lads tried it. Do they still make? what was it like?

Guinness black lager, and Guinness Blonde American lager still on sale in the US, and doing well

Yeah had their black lager when it came out first and was surprised to find it was quite interesting, was the first Schwarzbier I had but I am sure there are alot better ones on the contintent.
Still good to see the effort from Guinness even tho you get the impression that they would only deem it a success if it continues to increase its profit margin year on year, and when the first year it slows it would get pulled.

Guinness draught stout and bottled extra is alright by me, I like a dry stout with that roasted malt taste in the background.

I haven't tasted the Guinness dark beer. There's a couple of german bottled dry black beers that I've liked, Krombacher and Kostritzer.
Afair,I think I preferred the taste of Krombacher but wished it had the strength and body of the Kostritzer.

I drank a craft beer called 'Barefoot Bohemian' by some shower of crusties from Mitchelstown there a couple of weeks ago. It's a Pilsner, and they are the 8 degrees brewing company. It's nice stuff.

I also polished off a box of Cobra there last week after an Indian, that was nice, but maybe only because I was after eating an indian with their spices. All the lads from India I work with drink Kingfisher.

I'm stocking up with Erdinger Kristal and Staropraman for the Christmas. Any similar beers I should try instead?

Budvar & Pilsner Urquell are both nicer in my opinion and are available here.

Gambrinus is the nicest Czech beer (and probably the nicest anything!), but I have never seen it in Ireland. If anyone does see it here, please let me know as a matter of extreme urgency!

Saris and especially Kosovice are even nicer than those in my opinion. I must try that Gambrinus if I can get hold of it.

On one of your forays into town you should try this place out for range of foreign beers

But what temperature are those beers kept  at in that cooler behind the bar?

The rule of thumb scale is, the  crappier the brew,  drink ice  cold to cold as  there's no flavour to kill and nothing  to taste when it de-chills. The better the quality and stronger the brew, drink at 10C  upwards, depending.

No a bit too much of a wander from the office up to there to make it worthwhile in the short window we get for lunch. The range and variety won't be quite as exhaustive later. No need for a website, no need for a list.
