Quote from: Estimator on October 05, 2023, 02:46:30 PMIrish team for Saturday:

Changes from the SA match -
Henderson in for Ryan
Sheehan in for Kelleher.
McCloskey and Conan - on the bench

Ireland: Keenan; M Hansen, Ringrose, Aki, Lowe; Sexton (capt), Gibson-Park; Porter, Sheehan, Furlong; Beirne, Henderson; O'Mahony, Van der Flier, Doris.

Replacements: Kelleher, Kilcoyne, Bealham, Ryan, Conan, Murray, Crowley, McCloskey

Henshaw is slightly off form, but looks to be blighted by injury as well.

Quote from: clarshack on October 04, 2023, 02:16:20 PMThey'll be playing God Save the King in Casement then so bitter pills to swallow for both sides.

Only if NI or Englerland are playing, sure no big deal.

Quote from: general_lee on October 04, 2023, 12:13:31 PMCue Unionist meltdown.

IFA seem to be fully behind the renovation of Casement for this, so they've maybe had a few quid thrown their way as well.

They'll be looking to play all their big game qualifiers at Casement. Italy, Germany, France these types of games with San Marino, Andora, Farore Islands all confined to Windsor.

And what is the issue with that?

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on October 03, 2023, 09:03:54 PMWho's gonna own this pitch at the finish? Can't see so much money been handed out without a no.of conditions on use for other sports. Gigs, and anything else under the sun which takes their fancy

The GAA via the Ulster Council will ultimately own it, but they'll probably put some sort of body in control of utilising the venue to it's maximum.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on October 03, 2023, 11:28:46 PMIt's something I said I'd try this year and didn't bother, but will certainly give it a go next. Body camera, sure what harm could it do? Would certainly produce some red faces at a CCC meeting and clear up any issues with regards to players actions, and ref's  ;D

Give me a shout, our crowd sell them, I'll do a swap for a few hearing aids!

Quote from: Saffrongael on October 01, 2023, 05:50:49 PMSo Dunloy gone in Antrim to leave a Cushendall v Loughgiel final, Ballyhale nearly gone in Kilkenny, Dicksboro had them and looked very good, Ballyhale down to 14 men but Dicksboro seemed to lose a bit of belief.

There was no way Ballyhale would lay down

How many times have ballyhale been near gone though. It near takes as late a goal as Ballygunner got 2 years ago so they don't have any time to comeback.

Closest was St Thomas' who were leading by 2 points well into injury time only for TJ to sink a 21 yard free which was also well away from the front of goal and it still got passed a dozen defenders.

Quote from: Eire90 on October 03, 2023, 02:28:50 PMits a new level of low if they are stalking peoples social media profiles to use for sledging porposes.

This isn't a new thing and it's certainly not specific to Kilcoo, nor Down.

One of our lads was targeted a good few years back against a South Derry team about his ma, girlfriends títs etc etc obviously from SM, it didn't end there and followed on to the Hatfield later that night, but the lad in question got his comeuppance on the Monday morning and wasn't so brave when it was a one-on-one.

Loose lips cause teeth to get knocked out and all that!

Quote from: weareros on October 02, 2023, 07:28:12 PMFirst thing that happened after NI opted out of Free State (technically all island was independent for a second), was the boundary commission. Cormac Moore had a good article in Irish News a while back on how the Free State Government, in particular two ministers from North, made a hames of that.

Supposedly Churchhill offered a UI in return from Dev's help in World War II. Dev didn't trust him and maintained neutrality. It might have been the best chance lost.
Dev was entirely right, Churchill was a cúnt in a long line of cúnts.

Was he? Look at the number of dominions that gained independence after being Co-opted to fight in WW2.

How many of them were less than 50 miles off the GB coastline in a time of a still uncertain Europe?
Not to mention there were plenty from the north who fought with the Brits in WW2 who mightnt have been too happy at that

Not as many as the hardline loyalists would have you believe. Plenty of fighting age men holed up in the shipyard rather than go off to war, lest we forget.

Quote from: Cavan19 on October 02, 2023, 02:38:43 PMDont know what all the fuss is about they didn't draw the lines at the time but i have gone to the trouble to do it using MS paint and he was clearly offside.

Look you've even done the VAR screen and all  ;D 10/10 for effort. Who do you work for? Is Monday a day off?

Liverpool need to sue the Spurs grass cutter as it's obvious that the grass wasn't cut at perfect 90 degrees to the sidelines.

Quote from: NAG1 on October 02, 2023, 02:58:00 PMAlways curious to me how he seemed to be shunned by KK hurling people even around the height of his powers he never seemed to be held with the same regard as some of his peers.

The people around him in those squads must have had a fair idea about him early doors.

He was involved with the U20's in Kilkenny a few years back and is probably on Carlow IT's payroll for now anyway!

Quote from: imtommygunn on October 02, 2023, 03:06:54 PMI don't understand why mykolenko gets so little criticism. Lacks pace and isn't big or strong. Keane is terrible buts gets the press for it. Young is probably better than mykolenko is the best I would say for him.

A bit daydreamy as well, lads get in behind him all the time like on Saturday!
