Couldnt agree more.
Shame on Unionists to continue to vote for these b#stards no matter what and shame on Nationalists for not being bothered enought to vote them out, What other society would just accept such sectarianism, racism, homophobia, corruption, incompetence etc etc. With such ridiculous apathy most nationalists deserve all they get and have no right to moan over Brexit, marching or whatever else if they dont bother to do anything about it and shame on the British government for just sitting back and letting the DUP do whatever the feck they want.

Why do northerners think they're specail?
This is supported all over the world.

This is why Brexit, Trump etc couldn't be predicted.
All the media and academic types (the ones in positions to air their views nationally) thinking they are above it all and therefore so is society.
Living in the 20% or 5% bubbles thinking they are trend setters.

They don't give a shite about democracy, they do when it suits them but if the people voted for a United Ireland there would be guns and bombs all over the shop.

That's nonsence.

They didn't agree with the GFA either but they accepted it and the guns and bombs are gone.

It'd be nice if there was even a little effort put into opening thread posts.

McNulty has gotten a good run in this pre season. I wonder if Mickey plans on starting him at midfield in the coming year. Certainly offers us a bit more height in the side which is currently lacking and he can be a very powerful runner, if a little headless.

I don't like Mattie at 6, he's prone to making some daft tackles and I think a defensive role takes away from his game as well as leaving him more open to those daft tackles. He was sent off against Armagh in 2014 when he played at 6 and has also had red cards in last year's league final against Cavan and the McKenna Cup this year.

That was a poor decision and Mattie Donnelly deserved no credit for that card.

I wish people across the world would start telling us FG are a dead cert for the next Government. Nothing like being told what to think by outsiders to get the opposite result.

dublin conceded 2-14 against kerry last yr and still won by 2 points. and at least the kerry supporters could leave croke park with their heads held high. and only for a couple of wonder scores from harte and cavanagh we were beat by donegal too.

Dublin soon fixed that.

It still isn't in the North.  Unfortunately we don't live in anything approaching a "normal" society.  Two points McGuinness made last night were significant.  1) When was the last time you heard the DUP talk about "reconciliation" and 2) the anecdote about attending the Euro soccer matches. - These show the way a huge swathe of Unionism regards Irishness.

That's nonsense. If that was the case there wouldn't be so much concern about normal things. Health, education, housing, social welfare are the main concerns of people in the north across all sections. These topics are of less importance on an online forum as there is no discussion in agreement. There is only discussion in argument online.
Corruption in the political system has brought it down. An election will bring it back up. This is normal.

Irish Nationalism and British Nationalism are normal. It's ok to be either as long as it's done peacefully. I've no time for Unionism, FG have no time for Nationalism, the Tories have no time for SCottish Nationalism and the BNP have only time for English nationalism. Normal.

I was talking specifically about Tyrone. I want to know why they need 15 players to implement the tactic..

Most teams base tactics on 15 players.

Four less players.

headline on back page of irish news, 'uu clash 'critical' says harte'. what an embaressment to the the people of tyrone who take so much pride in their football. pure and utter fame seeking trash talk.

I'm just going to assume those two separate quotes were in the context of the McKenna cup and not an All Ireland QF.

I think your 'embarrassment' 'trash talk' is something similar to what you are accusing.

For those of you who say there's nothing wrong with the way the game currently is and it's okay to go sideways and even backwards, must not have to watch your team play this type of football much. Maybe we in Tyrone were spoiled with players like Canavan etc where we played some great open attacking football but if Canavan was playing today he'd be back in his own half back line with most of the rest of the forwards and then try to turn the ball over and attack at speed. That's great if the other team don't play the same way but when you play the top teams most of them do and so you have a horrible spectacle of a game.

I don't know if a rule change about kick-outs is going to affect that much but something needs to change as the entertainment value has gone completely out of it. Even when you win now, it's more a sense of relief than an actual enjoyable victory. Most pundits last year would say the best football was played at underage level.

The standard of refereeing is as big a problem for the spectacle of the game. Now even lads talented like Canavan seem happier to buy a free than keep going. These rule changes have no impact, managers will manage and if something doesn't suit their team they'll work around it. The GAA with their rule changes are moving chairs on the titanic. We have got to the stage where Referees are sacred within Croke Park.

J70 my real point is we can solve nothing here and to try to put that seem energy and passion in to local government would serve us all better.
I genuinely believe anyone else would have beaten trump - I think Bernie or Biden would have beaten him.
I don't know how long Trump will last - theres enough crazies in this country that he could get a .357 delivered at high speed and its President Pence going forward.

Same thing was said about Obama. Presidents don't get assassinated anymore. There's that much unity at the top they get bought instead.

They could just bring it back to dropping the ball in from a helicopter instead of having kick outs.

Meh, that's the new birth certificate scandal as far as I care.

Sweet Jesus.

It was used to claim technically Obama was not fit for office until something stupid was proven. This is being used to make the same claim. It's an old trick that comes up all the time. There is no issue with Trumps finance that wasn't there for everyone else. Does anyone think the Bush family in the Oil trade did not have an impact on his decisions?

It's almost refreshing to see him do it. We know money is an issue for everyone in office. Decisions are made based on someones money, maybe now we know it's Trumps money rather than someone we never heard of. It's how it works.

What is new is the refusal of the president to put his direct personal financial interests off the table. What is fairly new is the deep and bitter partisanship in DC and the country in general. Sure, lone GOP voices like McCain or Graham might raise concerns about something Trump is doing, but if you think Trump is going to be subject to even a small fraction of the oversight that the GOP gave to, say, Hillary Clinton, you're deluded.

Meh, that's the new birth certificate scandal as far as I care.

Oversight? It's a fecking democracy. That's how it works. Same as was here. We have a massive FG LB Gov and they also controlled the councils and the senate. FG had also the support of the richest man in Ireland. I hated that but I put up with it as that's how it was. We had our choice and we made it.

I've no time for Donald Trump, same as the next man. But I do think he is held to a different standard by the international community.
Maybe I am deluded, I don't know how to counter that.
