Hard luck to Monaghan. Mad to think that if Galway scored another point against Dublin, it would be Armagh and not Monaghan relegated along with Galway

Really hard to beat an ice cold pint of Kronenbourg 1664 (in the southern French sunshine if lucky enough).

Had a look for this in Superquinn yesterday but no joy.
Where do you buy it? Apart from somewhere in Southern France that is.

Not going to help you, I know but I was surprised to find Kronenburg on tap in the Cottesloe hotel, Perth the other day. Great spot for a Super Sunday!!

Hanley had a v good year last year after an injury-disrupted 2009. He started the year off in the reserves, and won a couple of Best-on-ground awards. By the end of the season he was back with the senior side and played the last few games.

Hopefully he can push on and make himself a permanent fixture. Those that know a lot more than me about the game reckon he has v good ball skills, exceptionally so for someone who took up the game so late a stage.

As for the Hawks, I think they will go alright this year - they've been keeping pretty quiet but I reckon Buddy Franklin is in for a massive year and could kick 100 goals.

First game of the new season - Aerlik's beloved Dockers vs my beleaguered Lions!

Its going to be a long season for the Lions fans, however I think they can get off to a good start. The evergreen Simon Black and Jonathan Brown will again have to shoulder most of the burden this year after the disaster that was Draft '10

Dockers are notoriously poor travellers, so hopefully we can start the year off the bottom of the table, although we will probably end up pretty close to the wrong end   :-\

I wonder how the fall out from Japan is going to affect the uranium mining and the knock on for the general Aussie economy

Generally, the current boom is being driven by the Chinese economy. The escalation of North v South Korea situation is the biggest threat to the mining industry, as China are alied to NK and the thought is that China wouldnt have any choice but to get involved if an all-out conflict ensues....

There is good money to be had in the mining industry, and at the  oment it is boom times, however it is a hard gig to get into, especially if you arent Australian as a lot of people that try it cant hack Fly In Fly Out work.

Money is good, but it not easy, and doesnt suit everyone. This week I worked 100hrs. Usually do a 15day work swing and 6 off. This is a good roster, as a lot of the other sites have a 26/9 roster.

Suits me as i havent a wife and kids sitting at home, and I get a week off to travel and see Australia a bit at a time.

Ive become addicted to headphones in the last year, couple of quick questions and I may be able to help.

1. What type of earphones/headphones do you fancy (in ear/on ear/over ear)
2.  What do you plan to use the cans on? (iphone etc)
3. Where do you intend to listen to the music?
4. What type of music do you like?
5. What do you like to hear most in music? i.e. do you like bass, prefer clear vocals or like clean crisp highs?
6. How important are looks?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm also looking for a pair of decent / cheap earphones:
1. in ear
2. ipod
3. gym - find it very hard to get earphones that dont fall out
4. Mostly dance / rock, something with a strong beat when i'm working out
5. Not really sure, so it probably doesnt matter. If pushed, I'd say clear vocals
6. Not very, but all the same wouldnt want anything too garish

Thanks in advance

I think Benson was on the League panel in 2008. I'll look up some programs when I get home.

Looking forward to this. Great to have the football back. The Down game will be a treat. A few pints afterwards too, I hope. What could be better?

yeah i'm pretty sure benny has alleady played for mayo in the fbd a few years ago . tis good to have the football back surely

Yeah, Benny played FBD in 08, scoring 2-3 in three games and came off the bench against Tyrone in the NFL that year too.

Isn't it strange that no one on the Board has yet to suggest that the Minister in charge should walk?  Four years in charge and the second hard winter leave little room for excuses that it was the British.  Surely there can be little reason left for avoiding water charges to bring in the upgrades needed in the infrastructure.

I'd never blame the British for us having no water in Dublin.

You probably should, a lot of the pipe work in Dublin is so old the brits probably installed them. I read somewhere that over 30% of water in Dublin is lost to leaks and this before any big freeze

I think you'd find that percentage to be fairly typical, though it is recommended that corrective action is required if a system is losing more than 20%

has anyone else had their water cut off today?

water been gone since last thurday, a bit of a balls getting sick of having cider on the cornflakes

Why would the water being off mean you have to put cider on your cornflakes?
