Not always the marquee forward, or perhaps it is.

In Armagh when I think consistency the man that springs to mind is Andy McCann.

Over the last 20 years, it's Andy McCann? Fair enough, I suppose you are a lot closer than me, but I'd have thought that great Armagh side of the late 90s, early-mid 00s was anchored by the likes of Geezer, the McGranes, Marsden and especially Oisin.

Undoubtedly the star players, but all were capable of having stinkers.

McCann was 7 out of 10 almost every Sunday I watched him.

Ha, we could only have hoped!

Jaysus. McEntees I meant :) Although that McGrane lad was very strong too.

Aaron Kernan for me has always been mr consistent, for both Cross and Armagh throughout his career

For Tyrone has to be Canavan. But I'd have Philip Jordan running him pretty close.

I think Keith Higgins has been one of Mayo's  most consistent player for many years. He's been ever-present since he made his debut in 2006 and never failed to give a good account of himself.
Andy Moran has been around since 2003 and he's still one of the better players on the side. ( I hope I can speak in the present tense about Andy.)
I felt he was shaping up nicely for another All-Star until he got injured.
James Nallen was another long-serving, consistently good player who comes to mind.
Really, I'd find it hard to to select one of them in preference to the other pair but, if I had to choose just one, I'd  (maybe) go for Keith.

Has to be Philip Jordan for Tyrone.. Started every championship match under Harte ... Always seemed to have a good game..

I will exclude Canavan as he is beyond all analysis, just pure genius!

Too many poor defensive performances keeps McCann ahead of him for me.

He always gets on the scoresheet, both form play and frees, something Mc Cann rarely done

They're defenders. Defensive duties should come first. Attacking is a bonus after that.
