Was never a fan of national newspapers running stories about GAA players being in court which wouldn't be newsworthy if it was Joe Public.
Although in this case Mulligan can be happy enough with the article as from it we find out
(A) he got off
(B) he pulled
(C) he drives a fancy car
and he probably doesn't understand what 'obstreperous' means anyway.

P.s. Solicitor is from Kerry so he gets the win.

Judge O'Connor accepted that Mr Mulligan had suffered broken ribs resulting from a football match in Tyrone five days before his arrest, and this constituted a "special" or "substantial" reason as to why the defendant was not able to give a breath sample.  ;D

In future court cases anytime anywhere.

Has the defendant any special requests?
Yes please your honour,  I would really like to appear before Judge O'Connor, if that's at all possible, with the courts permission of course.

Yeah, he's so lenient, he even prefers to appear before himself...

It's well know that anyone with 3 All Irelands is above the law in Kerry.
Up until recently, outside the elderly and Kerry people, this club included just Martin O'Connell and Brian Mullins, but with 2008 and 2015, you've some nouveau riche in Dublin and Tyrone able to come down, flaunt our laws if they wish, and just claim 3-Celtic-Cross immunity.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

I bet the lad who broke the ribs is delighted having heard this.

Hall's Pictorial Weekly would have had a field day with that whole Mugsy story.

He said of Dr Halkett: "No disrespect to the man but he didn't look like a doctor and was unsteady on his feet."

On the batter last night with an aul mate, reminisced and hate eight pints of stout, loaded for bear and took a nosebag home in a taxi, no excuse for drink driving these days.
