Mayo are very average would expect ros to win after beating a fancied Galway

With Galway taken out a few lads over on Mayogaablog are taking this Mayo team up as potential All Ireland winners its almost like they have won Connacht already.

The Meath v Tyrone match shows that in a knockout situation teams will raise their game.not many gave Meath any chance but they came so close.
Mayo done what they needed to do against limerick.
Derry put in a battling performance against kildare.
Waterford really got the day started with their win.
Looking forward to the draw on monday,it should throw up some novel pairings.waterford v leitrim or Sligo!!!
Home advantage against a side that just lost to Carlow and concede 2-22 to them is called a battling performance now?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Tyrone recover from this less than convincing and lucky win to reach another All Ireland semi final.

Another team that Mayo blew out of the water because they were poorly organized in defence. Strong finish to both halves for Mayo but in between improvement needed before facing better sides later on this summer.

Think Bradshaw will be gone after June 17th persoonally

He's been playing fairly well of late to be fair but he's obviously up there in age now. He's probably going to be phased out over the next 18 months or so. O'Donnell seems to have lost his place already.

Sean Kelly's display against Mayo and Sligo has cemented Gary's place on the bench you'd think, Bradshaw seems to do 50, 55 minutes and then he's goosed, this is probably our weakest line, if we had Daithí Burke, McDaid and Dylan Wall available it could be one of our strongest. Anyway, swings and roundabouts, we don't have them. I can see Cathal Sweeney getting a serious roasting some day though.
A line of Kelly Bradshaw & Heaney would do fine for me.
Brad having a good season overall up to now.
Would be a surprise if Kevin Walsh drops Sweeney from his half back line and isn't Heaney playing a type of sweeper role?

Some good players out injured but as you can imagine with their pick from Connacht minor winning teams its a very strong Galway U20 team.

1. Oran Burke (Corofin)
2. Sean Fitzgerald (Barna)
3. Sean Mulkerrins (Oileain Arainn)
4. Conor Campbell (Claregalway)
5. Jack Glynn (Claregalway)
6. Ryan Forde (Annaghdown)
7. Colin Murray (Mountbellew Moylough)
8. Cein Darcy (Caherlistrane)
9. John Daly (Mountbellew Moylough)
10. Darragh Silke (Corofin)
11. Lorcan Molloy (Menlough)
12. Finian O'Laoi (An Spideal)
13. Rob Finnerty (Salthill Knocknacarra)
14. Liam Costello (Milltown)
15. Dessie Conneely (Moycullen)
Strong midfield !
Few stronger midfield pairings at U20 level this year.

I hope our forwards can rack up a big score in this one, for a change. Also Brendan Harrison and Vaughan are reportedly injured for us. I wonder who will be in midfield? It's a worry from now on.

Kevin McLoughlin and Danny Kirby were the midfield pairing against Roscommon for most the game last week believe it or not. Neil Douglas meant to have had a great game in the corner too
Did Roscommon also have a makeshift midfield playing? going by the score Mayo got i can imagine plenty of forwards played well. Roscommon will need to do something about their loose defence before facing Galway on June 17th.

Why would we need to worry about defending with the forwards we have?
Yes Kevin Keegan.

I see one of Galway's best minors of recent years if not the best, Evan Murphy, is not on the U-20 panel this year. Heard a rumour he had left it alright. Anyone know the story there?
Out with a hamstring injury i have been told.

http://connachtgaa.ie/news/ticket-details-connacht-football-final/ Pricey for covered stand tickets at least its only 20€ for standing up which is €5 cheaper than the last few years Connacht finals.

not saying they wont but mayo rarely blow weaker team out of the water ,
well apart from Donegal or Roscommon
Mayo only blow teams out of the water that are poorly organized in defence. Donegal 2013 probably hung over after their All Ireland success and were all over the shop in defence that day v Mayo, Sligo in 2015 and they haven't learnt much going on last Sunday game v Galway and Roscommon last year who probably used up all of energy in the drawn game.

Limerick by all accounts have been poorly organized in defence all year so unless they can suddenly find a way to improve things they will be blown out of the water by Mayo on Saturday.

He scored 1 point from play against Clare, hardly the second coming of Gooch.

He's very accurate and clinical any time I saw him as a minor but doesn't have much pace. Cooper though had a fantastic game intelligence but that develops over time, people will just need to give Clifford time and patience.
Yep, he's nothing like Gooch, a poor comparison.

He's already a big man though, and what he was supposed to be very good at v Clare was winning ball and laying it off. Seems to have plenty of game intelligence, not the quickest but has a burst in him, and well able to kick scores.

There's plenty of people in Kerry who think Sean O'Shea is going to be even better. As a Dub, I didnt relish him kicking over a few long range frees!

But good for both of them that Geaney is still the main man and O'Donoghue showed some signs of coming back to form. Seems the plan might be to play him as a playmaker 11.

Perhaps Dublin's biggest weakness is if you can get 1-on-1 with their full back line. They're not great man-on-man, bar Cooper maybe. But you need to play 6 forwards to stop them having a sweeper, and then that leaves the Dubs even more dangerous at the other end.

There was one play in the highlights on TSG where he won a ball and set up Geaney with a lovely dummy. The thing was he had half a chance to shoot himself but he made the smart play and set up Geaney for a much higher percent almost tap-over effort. For a young lad of 19 on his intercounnty championship debut it was very smart/composed play.

Overall on Kerry I doubt any team will give Kerry as much space as Clare appeared to give them.
Its a feature of Div 2 teams this year it seems. Cavan gave loads of space to Donegal and were destroyed,Tipp against Cork likewise and remains to be seen how much space Cork and Roscommon will give to Galway and Kerry in the provincial finals.

2nd of May Harney got that injury v Mayo in the Junior championship i can imagine he should be fit to play in this Connacht final.

The 4th best team in England, who haven’t won a cup in years, just got beaten by the most successful club in Europe.

Only one team can win a final. When it happens against you, man up.

Let it go lads.

Who’s not letting it go? This is just PR by Karius to at least make people feel a bit sorry for him.

A requirement it seems as his agent seeks a new club with a decent deal.

Official -Final is in the Hyde.
That should end a most of the nonsense talk now.
