I love the original by Dire Straits, but this cover is as good a cover version I have heard in a long time.

Dunno if many of you guys have heard of Jimmy Webb....I think he's a genius...up there with Burt Bacharach...

This is one of his best...the singer's not a bad performer either!!

"Cheeky Charlie McKenna..."

DirtyDozen12

For all you who like acoustic music, this is brilliant.  The song is called one week by bare naked ladies, most of you will have heard it before, check out this video, they sing it in their bathroom.  Pure talent.

Nice tune but my favourite Nancy song would have to be Late Night Grande Hotel. It is beautiful.

Funny you should pick him DR.
Mine is Crazy Dreams by Paul Brady.

One day, years ago we had a stag party and we were in O'Donaghues in Merrion Row and I had a guitar and was playing tunes on it that nobody else could play -i.e, it sounded that bad.  I was only in late learner mode and tuning the yoke was a big job at the time.  Anyway, this fella sat down and asked could he borrow the guitar and I handed it to him and the first thing he does is twist every nut until I thought he had ruined it because he didn't know what he was doing! Happens he plays with guitar tuned in Open G and next thing he starts the intro to Crazy Dreams.  It was a young Paul Brady !

We were there for the day after that and the duck egg blue ford escort outside the door on Merrion Row.  Changed times or what !

Paul Brady plays City West 28th Dec.
" Laois ? You can't drink pints of Guinness and talk sh*te in a pub, and play football the next day"

Brilliant story Bud . i have seen him play a few times in Castlebar and he is class very witty as well. when he plays castlebar Matt Molloy joins him and they just belt out the tunes . Another favourite of mine is The Island. That auld ford would be worth a few quid now me uncle used to have a purple one in the 70's even had a furry dice :)
