The 29 year old doctor in Belfast killing his 51 year old mother. No idea what is going on there.

Had to laugh at Boris today, telling holiday companies to get their act together and ensure that they have a business plan that will make sure government taxpayers  won't be forking out money to bring people back from being stranded in foreign lands!

f**king cheek of him, the banks could have done with a proper business plan before the taxpayers had to bail them out also!
He wants No Deal
He tells companies to plan for eventualities.

Darwin Award Winner 2019.
I have mixed feelings over this one. Now that the fiancée is left with the memory of the lover boy who went beyond the boundaries of life to lay down his life when professing his love her, she will now have to live out the rest of her life with some man who will never ever measure up to that fatalistic underwater lover boy. This story is a cross between a  Darwin award winner and a Joycian  "The Dead" award of 2019. Perhaps they are worthy winners of both awards.

Seen there was another student passed away in the Holylands during the week.  I'm a solid decade from living in the area, but as far as I knew, this type of thing never happened before.

Just wondering what has changed for these incidents to occur?

Surely the Universities need to do more in terms of mental health awareness for students.  Combined, they should pool together and buy a property and fund for some sort of  crisis councillor to be made available or something.
Has any of the southern colleges similar?

I work in QUB and spoke to someone about these incidents this morning. It seems there were issues outside of Uni involved here, it seems there were no issues regarding drink/drugs being involved, it also seems coursework/ studies etc weren't issues either. The Uni involved (not QUB) had no inkling. Still very sad though

A transgender man has lost his High Court battle to make his child become the first in the UK to legally not have a mother.

Freddy McConnell, who was born a woman but later transitioned to become a man, took the Government to court earlier this year for refusing to let him be registered as the "father" on his child's birth certificate.

Pot-laced human poop getting dogs high in Aspen

QuoteDogs in the Roaring Fork Valley have found another way to get stoned other than the boring break-in of edibles at home: They are eating human feces tainted with marijuana.

Dr. Scott Dolginow, who owns Valley Emergency Pet Care in Basalt, said he is seeing anywhere between three and 10 dogs a week that come in with marijuana toxicity.

His working theory is that these dogs are eating human feces that have enough THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, in it to carry over for a second high. And they are finding these piles of pot-laced poop on trails and in campgrounds.

"Seventy to 80% of people say they have no idea where their dogs got it, but they say they were out on a trail or camping," he said. "I can't believe that the owners are lying."

At least it was 50 years ago.

The whack jobs are still at this shit in the States. There is currently a political movement in Orlando to ban "conversion therapy"; the reason its gone local in Florida is because of the GOP control on the state means attempts at statewide bans have failed.

This is from 2010 but it's still pretty shocking

"Former manager Michael 'Babs' Keating has written off Tipperary's All-Ireland prospects° for the 2010 season and launched another blistering attack on the current players, many of whom he managed prior to Liam Sheedy's appointment.
"If Tipp are to come through, they could have to meet Waterford, Galway and Kilkenny along the way," said Keating yesterday. "I don't think the players that have failed Tipperary over the last number of years will relish meeting them all and beating them all. Having to face a couple of them will make life very tough for Tipperary. "Denis Walsh has a history of winning All-Irelands – he has that advantage over Liam Sheedy.""
