Surprised to see the neighbours Kilmaine beaten in the Mayo junior final at the weekend.
The Galway junior representatives in Connacht this year will be the weakest in a long time.
Neither has much of a chance of winning it.

Lahardane managed by one J Maughan.

I see he was wearing a compression shirt as a top on the sideline to show off his guns. Even the lack of a tan can't stop him strutting about like a peacock.

Having led an unfancied Lahardane to their first ever adult county title, he could have laid buck naked on a tanning bed on the sideline and no one in Lahardane would have objected !

Alan Dillion was MOTM tonight. It was odd he didn't see a few minutes on the field of play in the All Ireland final.

Always easy to say that in hindsight. He made a few sub appearances earlier in the championship and looked well off the pace.

Played brilliant stuff tonight though - 5 points and pulled the strings throughout

Was Cillian O'Connor sent off on 2 yellows or was it straight red?

Anyone who has seen Dillion's last few appearences for Mayo will know how not-odd his omissions have been. A great servant for his county but he was done at the same time Horan was.

2 yellows so no suspension.

The second one was mistaken identity as well!!

Tom Flynn and Gareth Bradshaw might say that's karma! 😉

Another Castlebar/Ballintubber borefest on the way I presume.

Galway Senior final on Sunday. Corofin going for 5-in-a-row v Mountbellew/Moylough going for their first since 1986. (Lost their last 2 finals in 2009 and 2 years ago). Corofin the obvious favourites but are showing aging signs and creaked their way past Annaghdown in the semi'. Some say that is their bad game out of the system but I don't necessarily agree. They're a long time on the road and, of their main forwards, Ml Farragher tended to play more out the field recently, Ian Burke was well held last day and Gary Sice just looked so tired and off-the-pace. M/M seem fresher and have been putting up fair scores in the past few rounds, always a good sign, and if they play to their own strengths are a good bet at 5/2 (PPs).

Who else do Mountbellew have apart from Michael Daly? Is Joe Bergen still.togging out?

Barry McHugh and Michael's brother John is back after serious injury last year and playing very well apparently. Joe Bergin is still togging out for them alright.
