Billy O'Farrell. A Laois man now Longford's manager.
Billy O’Loughlin you mean.

Apols - yes. My mistake.

I don't know much about him - but I think it's better to get a young lad, hopefully, on the way up, than a serial manager on the way down.

A nephew of Luke Dempsey.

Former Mayo footballer Aidan Kilcoyne is part of the backroom team  - coach I think.

Goalkeeping coach I believe.

There has been alot if moaning about a tournament in Qatar as well.  Its fantastic.  Something different, a winter wc.  Remember the crying about the wc in Russia.  Wasn't sure about it myself but it was run very well and fair play.  Different continents deserve their turn

They do, but reports of people dying while construction was ongoing annoyed me. The heat will be a leveller however.

Boys it would founder ye that day.
I thought it was grand. I love the real cold days, much prefer them to really hot and humid days.

Love the crisp frosty days/mornings myself, but the bloody wind chill (today) is a different story. Add in the rain too ;D

It's a hard one to take. Boyle typified the resilience of the team for the last 10 years. Why he wasn't brought on in the final this year I'll never know.

Connacht senior semi final between Pearses and Mountbellew Moylough that was to be played Sunday is called off.

Any reason why?

That was a massive result for Man Uniteds season. Knock out champions league where anything can happen and things could look a whole lot differently in February. Importantly it means they also avoid Thursday night Europa League football.

Would they have got the same result under Solakjaer? The way things had slid I’m not sure they would have which is a part indictment on the players too. I don’t think anyone believes Carrick is the answer long term but if they get a decent result against Chelsea on Sunday he could well be in the managers chair for a bit longer yet.

I do.

You're a LFC fan. Opinion doesn't matter.

Get the go-ahead...but ANOTHER increase - to €150 for CP season ticket holders. Club+ also up €50 to €250.

It's said Ole wanted to keep Lingaed after his performances at West Ham. West Ham would probaly have paid up but United weren't prepared to sell in the summer

Ole would still havehad a role in signing Maguire.

He was too loyal to certain players. Mata another kept on for the sake of it and just filling a Squad number. A good player but should have been gone a while
Every manager is loyal to certain players it was eventually Solskjaers downfall.

West Ham would not be prepared to pay his wages. Other or better run clubs than United would have offloaded the likes of Lingard, Mata, Jones a few seasons ago and wouldn't have them on ridiculous wages.

Better scouting would be had also on transfers, when signed I'd wondered was Maguire much of upgrade on Smalling. With better coaching he might become less error prone and show he's close to the fee that was paid for him.

Solskjaer gone and how long his management team are kept on remains to be seen. As I said earlier McKenna, Phelan, Carrick have been doing the coaching and a new set piece coach was brought in this season and if anything United have got worse on set pieces. Villarreal, Chelsea, Arsenal should all be expecting comfortable wins against United in the upcoming games.

There might be a 'new manager bounce'.
