Now that Trump is officially gone. Let's hope the US can move on from this time of carnage to one where we can rebuild our economy and our faith in sane Government.  How long will it take before the Trump rump of the Republican Party mobilize full out demonization of President Biden and his efforts to unite the country. My guess is that the honeymoon will be short.

LOL

I was talking to someone today who is going to get their gun permit on Friday before Biden "bans guns"

The economy is going to do great for the next 2-3 years but afterwards who knows. Since the pandemic began, Americans have added close to $1.5 T to their savings accounts. Add in $2T in stimulus and a very robust stock and real estate market.....I think Joe is teed up to do very well
Typically the gains and falls in the US economy during the first 18m of a Presidency are ascribed to the performance of the previous POTUS.
I think Trump told so many lies that he could never be credited for any actual economic good he achieved.
we already know how this goes if it's good it's Biden if it's bad it's trump .
For something like the unemployment rate Did you think that trump was calculating it himself and just said whatever suited him ?

Yes

The old VP's departure on the Congress steps, escorted by the new VP was a telling moment. That should have been the outgoing POTUS' scene instead. Never has Trump looked more like an ill-mannered lout than in that moment.

No, but in 2012 he and other Republicans were accusing Obama and his administration of making up unemployment numbers in the run up to the election.

Also, he and the right in general NEVER acknowledged that the "record-low" rates of unemployment, including among black males, prior to COVID, were the result of the continuation of a long trend beginning with the recovery that began in 2009. They boasted away, yet NEVER could point to any inflection point in the trend which would delineate the Obama trend from any change down to Trump policies.

Captain Obvious

What a breath of fresh air that new press secretary is.

Remember Sean Spicer's roll-out four years ago?

The inauguration crowd? ;D

And then Kelly-Anne following up with "alternative facts".

Notice how hard it is to tell actual conservative commentary from satire?

Main Street

Biden's first act in the oval office was to remove the bust of Churchill  ;D
Interesting that pm Bullsh*t Johnson wasn't at all perturbed when informed, in stark contrast to the racist tirade he directed against Obama  when he had moved it aside after his entry to the Oval office.

What did he say about Obama?

In 2016, commenting in the Sun newspaper on Obama's decision to remove the bust of the wartime prime minister, Johnson highlighted how it may be viewed as "a snub to Britain".

He added: "Some said it was a symbol of the part-Kenyan president's ancestral dislike of the British empire – of which Churchill had been such a fervent defender."

Johnson was later asked if he regretted the phrasing of his comments, to which he replied: "Of course not."

And how easy it is taken in by fake news and pass it on, especially when it suits your politics.
