I think in a way, the OO marching in these towns and villages is people don't care any more. No major flashpoints now apart from the interfaces and urban areas. 

Nationalism has won. It's all about the demographics now and that has swung hugely in the past 5 years and in 10 years say, it'll be massive.

These parades are more to be pitied than laughed at. They know their place now in the small rual areas, especially west of the Bann. A tiddly wee band with a few old men in bowler hats marching behind.

A sad sight.

At senior level yes, Harte also has a minor all-ireland and 2 u21 all irelands. So it's kinda 6 v 1?

Jim yet to win an Ulster senior club either

Venues for the Semis?
Meath v Kerry Portlaoise?
Tyrone v Connacht Breffni if Ros, Longford if Galway?

Portlaoise? Good god man have you any idea how far it is from places like Ballinskelligs to even Limerick!

Thurles at least I would hope and if that's not available, Nenagh or the Gaelic grounds.

from places like bettystown and ballinabrackey (both clubs have players on Meath team) portlaoise is same distance as from Kerry

Ballinabrackey is an hour from Portlaoise.

lot longer than a hour. And what about bettystown ?

Has the money been going into Dublin equally across all codes and genders?

I assume it has, and if so, why is it that the senior male footballers are the only ones with continued success?

I know the ladies did well, and maybe that has turned them around as before that period they only won one.

But with regards to hurling and Camogie Dublin's last win was in 1984 and they were a brilliant team back in the 60's, but nada since and the senior hurlers haven't been to a final since 61

Are Dublin just producing better footballers as the money isn't making a difference in hurling

Dublin is stronger in football.There are more footballers than hurlers in Dublin.
The money fell on fertile ground. It was enough to override Kerry.

Limerick is stronger in hurling. The money was enough to buy the expertise in. Cork, Tipp and KK were unable to respond. The timing was right.

Dublin have money and a playing hurling population 3rd to Cork and Tipp

So it's either a numbers game poor coaching no money or football is a gift to play

I've been done many times with the cameras over the years, no excuse, speeding and wrong, do I blame the camera for being there? No that's all on me. Anyone that thinks they can speed 'safely' is crazy

If they put the average speed cameras on the road would it make it safer? Wouldn't know the stats on the accidents  in regards to speeding, carelessness, recklessness and so on, but in the meantime till its sorted it needs some attention.

What stage is it at with planning and at what point will they government say we've taken into considerations your issues of not having it but we are going ahead with it anyways? 

Yes 100%, but it's more the optics of it. Another horrific crash on the A5, and the following morning there's a speed van (of which I'm sure there is only a limited nunber) in a safe part of the A5 trying to catch motorists doing 5mph over the 30 approaching an overtaking lane. The van definitely be out on the A5, but situated near an accident black spot.... Was a hot topic of conversation among the Strabanimals and Omagh folk in our work yesterday

If you're doing 35mph in a 30 you deserve a fine. There's a reason it's 30 and not 40.

"If you hit a pedestrian: at 40 mph there is a 90 percent chance they will be killed. at 35 mph there is a 50 percent chance they will be killed. at 30 mph there is a 20 percent chance they will be killed."

This I know, I said it's the optics of it and went on to explain. I definitely don't need lectured in road safety

Genuinely starting to feel sorry for Brolly. GAA people who once valued his opinion now laugh at him, not with him and no-one believes a word he says.

This is true. The only reason he's still in the media at all now seems to be to laugh at him. I don't know anyone who would actually pay any heed to him apart from an eye roll. T'is a sorry state and he's even managed to turn his own against him. Pity, he was entertaining once.

He speaks well on a wide range of non GAA topics on the Free State, some very enjoyable episodes

[The episode also contains Joe telling us how he told txt a friend before the Derry Donegal game to predict that Donegal would win using "a ploy to go for lobbed goals when the keeper comes to midfield". Weirdly, he never once made that prediciton in public before the game. Just told us about how he predicted it in the aftermath and how obvious it was.]

The title of Joe's latest Free State episode might lead you to believe it's about Jim McGuinness, but it's essentially just Joe using Jim as the vehicle to pursue his personal vendetta against Mickey Harte.

Joe spent years making fairly bitter attacks on McGuinness, auccusing him repeatedly of having "destroyed the game". A few months ago he wrote a column blasting the extreme and unfair expectations McGuinness places on players in their personal lives in pursuit of success, and only a few months ago, termed him "the the dark destroyer of gaelic football" who was about to unleash his latest "virus".

One victory from Jim over Mickey Harte later, and we get a podcast telling us everthing that is wrong about Harte as a man and a manager, and how McGuinness is the greatest manager in the game and absolutely lauding how he man-manages his players.

The episode also contains Joe telling us how he told txt a friend before the Derry Donegal game to predict that Donegal would win using "a ploy to go for lobbed goals when the keeper comes to midfield". That's Brolly in a nutshell.  Narcissists are always right

Heard that story  so many times.

Plus, he  always adds a well known figure  in his story to  give his "prediction " more credence.

Wait until you find out that he thought that Jimmy McGuinness would manage Barcelona whenever he switched codes to soccer!
