General discussion / Irish Sky Card in the UK
July 19, 2009, 05:54:57 PM
I am considering buying an Irish Sky card so as to watch Irish tv (in particular GAA) in England. Setanta going bust was irritating as far as watching GAA is concerned and now being solely dependent on streams, which RTE are increasingly banjaxing, is frustrating.

I am thinking of using this service -;

Has anyone else used them or someone similar?

They are expensive I know but as my relatives in NI both already have Sky subscriptions I can't use any addresses to register the card and get it posted over.

General discussion / iPod problem
July 11, 2008, 08:03:32 PM
My 30gb ipod fell out of my coat yesterday and hit the ground quite hard.

It froze and I tried to reset it as I had done once previously but the screen comes up with an exclamation mark in front of a picture of the ipod which shows a  :( and the apple support address is listed, which I have looked at and found pretty unhelpful.

I have charged it overnight last night via the mains and also connected it to my computer, all to no avail.

I have had it since Jan 07, is it buggered?

GAA Discussion / TG4 Web Coverage
March 02, 2008, 02:58:36 PM
I tune to TG4 fairly often to keep an eye on the live matches.

Today it just brings up to the schedule rather than Kerry v Derry, does anyone know if it's a fault or is it not available now outside of Ireland (I reside in england)

GAA Discussion / Best Derry footballer since 1980
November 22, 2006, 05:25:50 PM
I may have left one or two out from the early 1980's that I can't think of right now.

Prior to 1980, I appreciate that Sean O'Connell & Jim McKeever may well have been better than any of these but I never saw them play.

Personally, I think Tony Scullion who rarely had a bad game.
