The Golden Years

Gutted after tonights game. Thought errigals superior fitness levels got them over the line as we appeared to tire early in the second half and seamus strange decision to take if conan mcelduff. Our first have goal chance was crucial as it was a four point swing. Instead of being 6 up we ended up 2 up. Spirlo was immense on peter Harte, never really worried about Davy Harte as I feel his best days are long gone. Mccrory was Mccrory, useless. I kind have felt half sorry for him at his effort for a point when the whole crowd appeared to laugh. Surely his days in a county jersey are over. Young kavanagh is a good talent. Great 2nd half performance from him.

I thought Errigal were well on top before the sending off. They were dominating midfield and had 3 unanswered points before it.

Though it was a poor enough game of football overall, Gormley bossed things around the middle first half, kicked a couple of scores too, McElduff was doing well also at midfield not sure why he was taken off. Errigal came out 2nd half and were more fired up started to get more tackles in which they didn't do at all first half. Carrickmore really struggled to get any meaningful attacks and were cleaned out at midfield. Was Munroe wasted in at full back on Davy Harte?
The minor McCartan made a good impact for Errigal. Man of the match i thought was Mark Kavanagh 4 from play in the 2nd half, 3 with the fist, strong direct running. The red card looked harsh enough from where I was on the terrace side, looked more like a blocking off the ball black-card type foul, Errigal were a point up at this stage and looking strong anyway so might not have been crucial.

Not many Errigal men were going to come to Devlin's rescue when he was butting heads with Big Oz!

Thought the fitness levels were tellino,  would errigal train much more than Carmen like?? Mark Kavanagh very good

Inroundthesquare you thought the sending off was harsh! It was in front of us and it was just daft! Left Carmen a man down in a game that was already gowing away from them. Of the games this week have to say Omagh have been the most impressive.

skeog

Omagh impressive but Greencastle finished bottom of league for a reason.

They played a team that was bottom of the league, they haven't played a decent team yet

Went to all the games this weekend, really enjoyed the Trillick and Coalisland game out of them all. The ref from Errigal was simply a disgrace in the second half, simply put he rode Trillick, allowed so many bad tackles from Coalisland and wouldn't award scoring frees to Trillick. There was great intensity to the game. Omagh crusied to an easy victory against bottom of the league gree castle who it to be said battled away and created three goal chances of which they took none, that will be a worry to Omagh, but comfortable. Pomeroy and Clonoe played in poor conditions and Colonoe looked out of sorts for a long time, but credit to Pomeroy they were more hungry and were in some position to win, but like many teams before them they forget to tell Clonoe the game was over. Also the ref shafted Clonoe in the first half, was very very sore on them. No idea how the reply will go. Carmen had a chance this evening, impressed with their first half, Donnelly made an unfortunate mistake passing instead of shooting, it would have gave them a strong lead. But Carmens fitness or else Errigal were fitter as the second half you could see the lack of running from Carmen. Errigal took over and had runners available each attack. A good championship win for Errigal. Carmen mid fielder should not have been taken off, they missed him.

skeog

Did Carmen change the trainer mid season for no apparent reason.

Would say the 12 point win was harsh on Greencastle.
Played well, put pressure on. Black card was the killer of the game, probably wouldnt have got back into it regardless, but when you see the black card offences overlooked in other games they can feel hard done by, considering they had an incident in the second half that was more of a black card that only got a yellow.
Not sure of Omagh's credentials for winning outright. Ardboe and Greencastle are below the teams to come for Omagh.

Under Lights

Carmen didn't believe that they could win yesterday.

The standard of refereeing was pish poor over the weekend except for Sludden....Fergal Ward and Eanetta where woeful altogether... From our point of view we have a big task v Pomeroy(who must wonder how they did not kick on and win the game) we need to improve especially our first half showing...all too play for all the same....

Where did Sludden get 8 minutes of extra time in the second half from? There were not that many stoppages!
