Title: Sayings
Post by: tyroneman on September 20, 2019, 11:25:54 AM
Can anyone tell me what exactly "neither the time nor the spoons" refers to? (I get the gist of not having time to waste, but don't get the metaphor?)

In short, spoons = energy, so it's 'neither the time nor the energy.'

People who have a chronic illness or a disability will often refer to spoons, spoons being a metaphor for the amount of energy they have at a particular time.
