Syf getting on the new bandwagon ;D
Took you 2 hours to get over your Brids  :P
Nice to see a change and hopefully the Pearses will win their first ever.

Corofin v Mountbellew final in Galway.

Corofin v Cortoon was tight enough for the first half today but Corofin just pulled clear to win by 10 in the end.

Mountbellew beat Salthill by 5 in the other semi.

I was always on the Cake bandwagon. Late candidate for the county job?

Shrewdness

There will be two Curran's in the Ros final, with Clann na nGael being managed this year by former Dublin footballer, Paul Curran.

As we approach the final stages of the club championships in each of the three grades in each county in Connacht it wont be long until focus switches to the Connacht Club championships. So whos still in the running to emulate Corofin, St. Croans and Arann Islands.

Sligo JFC Final
Owenmore Gaels v Eastern Harps

We won that final a full two weeks ago! Would have been in Connacht regardless like last year as Harps was a second team, but it's better going in there by right rather than by default.

Senior QF's are Tourlestrane v Coolera, Mary's v Mullinabreena, Curry v Eastern Harps and holders Tubbercurry v Calry. Hard to see Tourlestrane not maintaining their habit of winning it every other year. Intermediate final is an all-west affair, Castleconnor v Easkey. Any Ballina heads here might be interested in that one given the two clubs are close by.

There is a club Aughavas in Leitrim junior, but don't think they played Connacht last year and they might skip it again. Melvin Gaels won the Intermediate final there and the Senior was a draw, Manor and Mohill replay next Saturday.

Clifden vs St Gabriels in the Galway junior final next Sunday.

Two of the few club first teams left that play junior football in Galway.
Most teams in junior now are club second teams after the likes of Ballinasloe, Arann Islands, Headford went up in recent seasons.

Clonbur (AI champions in 2012) were relegated back to junior yesterday.

How are Sligo 'only' at quarter final stage?
The County team were in Round 4b Qualifier action August weekend.
They also unexpectedly :-[ :-[ got to the Connacht Final and probably put the Club scene on hold.

It's a puzzle to us too Farr, it wasn't like we had ten weeks between league and championship to play a few rounds, instead only started it week after Roscommon game. To be fair there are six rounds in the group stage but some of them really should have been ran off earlier. Worse still the league wasn't even finished off, most teams didn't even play the final round of fixtures as things were largely decided. Same messing last year too.

Michael Glaveys beat Fuerty in a classic Intermediate final by a single point (3-08 to 1-13), the winner scored from a 45 with the last kick of the game by Darren O'Malley. Huge turnout in Stroketown and they were treated to a great game.

All Fuerty for 40 minutes but somehow Glaveys found a way back from a 1-04 to 0-00 start to the match to win the Inter title in the same ground they won the Junior title just 12 months ago. Incredible.

Farrandeelin

An all South Mayo affair in the Intermediate final. Hollymount-Carramore v The Neale. Knockmore advance to the semi next week v Castlebar.
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.
