If Mayo's backs were the best in the country, they wouldn't be conceding as many dodgy/preventable/stupid goals as they do, at the worst possible time, when Mayo lose big games. However, the backs have to hold their hands up too, for the sheer size of the scoreline that their forwards have to overcome.
Fairly spot on there.

Syferus

Higgins and Keegan probably the two most complete backs in the country, Boyle good but too undisciplined at times chasing after the ball, leaving space forwards can exploit. Durcan a good player for the future. Vaughan is not even a good defender IMHO. Caffreky was at All-Star level a few years back but has regressed with injuries. You can expose Mayo inside just as easily in 2017 as you could back in 2012 or 2014 in my opinion.

Pathetic and all as we are, the winners often get some sympathetic decisions to beat us in Autum. Sometimes it takes the chosen ones replays and xtra time to beat those pussies.

Never mind that All Ireland nonsense - What about the FBD ?

Looks like Mayo will be seriously short on numbers against NUIG this weekend. Might bring the boots over to MacHale park to see if I get a run out...

Why are we short on numbers?

Most of the Mayo panel went to Africa on a ten day holiday last Monday.

There are a few injuries as well plus lads are playing for their colleges

I see where Donegal are putting and U21/second string/development squad into the McKenna cup, managed by U21 manager Declan Bonner. These pre season competitions are worthless.

Apparently Tipp hurlers aren't entering the Munster hurling league being played this month, same as last year.

Rossfan

I believe Munster turfed the Colleges out last year.
Pity the other 3 Provinces don't  do the same.

Mayo's best forward is Lee Keegan..

4-28 in 33 Championship games is some going from wing back.

Even better when you consider he has been tasked with man marking jobs on the oppositions best players for most the last few years.
