Given the way they played against France in Paris, they should have no bother in dispossessing with all those little teams from Eastern Europe.
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.

Nice enough start and finish. Pity we didn't get Slovakia in one of the first couple of fixtures though, catch them during a bit of a World Cup hangover.

Macedonia (A) Saturday, 4 June, 2011 - Dodgy fixture. Will be a very tough place to go to at the end of a long season.

That only happens once every four years, when there is just a glimmer of a hope of qualifying. I expect a whole raft of dull 0-0 and 1-1 disappointing draws.

Are there not "International Hoidays" when Internationals are on?

Don't care if there are lots oof 0 0 or 0 1 scorelines as long as we get through.

will be 35 degrees odd at that time of the year there. Nasty. Not a great opener either. Slovakia at home and russia away in the same week will be tough too. OK fixture list.

Not sure what the thinking in that is.

I'd say its a result of pressure from the top clubs who want their players back as quickly as possible after international duty.

According to that source of all knowledge wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2012_qualifying

For the first time, Tuesday evenings replace Wednesday evenings for midweek qualifying fixtures where two matchdays occur in the same week. This is in order to allow players an extra day to return to their clubs for domestic duty the following week. Consequently, teams are permitted to move the earlier weekend match forward to the Friday evening. Where matches are scheduled for a Friday evening, there remains a possibility that the fixture will actually be played on the Saturday.

Freaky stuff nevertheless.
Playing the game on Tuesday mutually excludes from it being played on the Wednesday.

I live around the corner from Perth's biggest Macedonian Community centre, so I might pop in for a pint to watch the game.  Some quare stunning looking blades from that part of the world.

The Massas are an unbelievably patriotic bunch too.  Don't even mention Alexander the Great being Greek.  And don't mention the part of Greece called Macedonia.  Riot squad invite.
