Rossies are the most stylish arrogant team i have seen in my time. Gra gael mo cri rossies

Rossies are one of the most useless arrogant teams, most of the rest had actually won something of note before becoming arrogant albeit in the last century.
He's a Mayo man pretending to be a Roscommon poster. Its best not to be quoting someone i and many others have blocked.

I tip my hat to both sides a thrilling game that had everything. More often than not we lose games like that so i'm delighted to come out the right end this time. Galway jinx is over at U21 level 1999 since we beat them or 1982 since we beat them in a Connacht final. Harney,Murtagh two key players for us today & while Smith looked leg weary he still created two of our goals. Our strong sub bench played important role in the win also. Congrats to all our the players and management.

On to the All Ireland semi final we go now where i would expect a more defensive contest.

Pathetic trolling from a Mayo man obsessed with Roscommon.

How will ye be relegated next year gibbs? IF ye don't get promoted this year. FWIW I think Ros will get promotion on Sunday.
Farra no ye with gibbs he's a certain Kilmovee individual that plays the same nonsense on stolensheep with numerous usernames. Thankfully the ignore feature is in place on both sites for his kind of trolling.

Pretty sure the teams that go up from Division 2 tend to have decent enough championships in the same year ; the big problem is that teams that get relegated from Division 1 tend to have pretty abysmal championships that year.

When a team gets relegated its possible that they might have a knock-on affect. What would happen if Roscommon got relegated from Division 1 and then lose in the first round of Connacht and went out early in the qualifiers? How would this affect morale/sponsorship/ability to attract decent management?

Another issue is the U21s - Roscommon are among the favourites for the U21 championship and it would surely help the U21s cause (depending on when the matches are scheduled) not to be involved in a Division 2 Final.

The big question is what sort of chance the teams that go up from Division 2 would have in terms of avoiding relegation.

Based on the way Division 2 has gone this year, it's very hard to make the case that whoever goes up is well prepared for the step-up in class. The two who go up would be competing with Dublin, Mayo, Cork, Monaghan, Donegal and one from Tyrone and Kerry to avoid relegation which looks to be a serious task

Meath,Cavan with the talent available to them should be able for the step up if we don't win Sunday then as Rosfan said div 2 will be our rightful place.

We were unlucky to get relegated from div 1 on 6 points in 2003 but that summer we had one of our best championships by reaching the All Ireland quarter finals. We didn't have a good championship the last time we were promoted to div 1.

Open to correction but i think since the restructure of the league format only Westmeath,Laois were relegated the following year after getting promoted. For example Kildare were promoted in 2012 on 9 points in their last game they beat Galway in Salthill with a last minute goal and went on to hold their own in div 1 in 2013

Will we be seriously going for it or will we be starting all the non regulars.
Also Smith and Murtagh D.playing U21 Final Sat night. They got 1-6 of our 1-10 yesterday.
Whyte
Fetherstone Collins Stack
B Murtagh  Kelly Ward
Higgins Nally
.Cafferky Healy Daly C
Connolly Compton CMurtagh.

Can leave the non regulars for the league final in a few weeks  ;)

While its not right & is another example of how the GAA schedule is fcuked up Enda Smith,Diarmuid Murtagh are use to playing twice in two days with their colleges. Fingers & toes crossed no injuries.

Westmeath didn't hold back on us in 2008 when we were in relegation battle. After yesterday very disappointing performance i would hope for positive reaction & i would expect a dogfight in Mullingar Sunday.

I'm still shocked that HHH put Bryan over last year. Good match though i liked how they used the NWO,DX (mostly HHH buddies) as clearly at Stings age he couldn't go all out. HHH v The Rock for next years Mania by the looks of it. Stephanie will get hurt if she takes on Ronda she will hardly be that silly?

I thought the last Rusev v Cena match was better, what next for Rusev now that his unbeaten run is over, will Vince have him dancing or back to NXT?

Taker match improvement on last year but to be far he was concussed then. Lesnar match was so well booked & Seth Rollins title win was Edge like

Great win & performance its a long time since i saw a United side that controlled a game so much in Anfield before especially in the 1st half. Significant away win against what was the form side in the Premier league. Hopefully United can now push on for the top 4 finish.

On another note aren't Moyes signings playing well now maybe next season we will see the best of LVG signings.

Average enough game where we didn't play near our capabilities but the better side on the day won & a two point win probably about right i reckon.

The 2nd goal a nice gift from O Rourke though Kilbride still had a lot of work to do, it somewhat made up for the gift of a goal that Claffey gave to Meath two years ago. That second goal gave us the cushion to hold on for the win though if anything we sat back on the lead too much however Meath never looked like getting the goal that they needed.

Keenan probably our best player today great leadership and drove us forward, David Murray had another fine game & looks like he's been playing senior football for years. A good hard earned & long overdue win against Meath today well done to all the players & management onwards & upwards we go

P.S The Black Mamba just to let you know gibbs32 is a poster pretending to be rossie. the Ignore feature on this forum is best used for posters like him.

Also, if all Ross forwards are better than their Mayo counterparts, how come they failed to outscore a very mediocre Laois side?
Sure ye bet the likes of Down and Kildare but with all due respects, neither side would come within an asses’s roar of Kerry or Monaghan.
Now, I can’t be any fairer than that, can I?
It took extra time to separate Kildare & Monaghan last summer. Down looking likely to swap places with Derry now & they have top championship record against Kerry.

Our Laois and Down results was indication of how inconsistent as a team we are now though at least we now performing better than our last visit to div 2.

While i'm not getting into the debate on better forwards i do understand what your forwards have is experience & are seasoned at the highest level, i know you probably wouldn't swap them for anyone in the lower leagues however plenty of good forwards are playing in the lower leagues for example Marren Sligo, Quigley Fermanagh, Kingston Laois, Reilly Meath, Sweeney Tipp to name just a few that would all cause plenty of damage to div 1 defences.

If its a Ros v Mayo connacht final( and neither team may make it that far) it will be in Castlebar, who in their right mind would want to play in salthill, and if ros mayo meet the following year and the hyde is not ready it will still be in Castlebar, both counties are mature enough to work out a proper agreement.

Hasn't been a Connacht final down by the seaside since 2009 & while we wait for the redevelopment of the Hyde is it fair to Galway GAA having every final in Castlebar? they have debts to pay off also.

Since Mayos last Connacht U-21 final appearance/win in 2009 a similar pattern has been developing at this grade.

2010 Roscommon
2011 Galway
2012 Roscommon
2013 Galway
2014 Roscommon

Can we break that pattern or will Galway win again this year? With Galways record of winning U-21 All Irelands & home advantage in this Connacht final the odds will certainly be interesting.

Good win today for the lads. Pretty much led for the entire game. Didn't really have any big expectations before the match to be honest. Damien Comer seemed to be head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. Roscommon will justly be warm favourites in the final but sure you never know on the day. Might need a lucky break or two though.
How much expectations had you and other Galway supporters before the 2011,2013 championships?  After the manner of our 2013 U-21 final defeat i think it is us that are probably due a luck break or two.

You might remind us how Rosscommon did on their last visit to Croke Park??? Some facts here for the Rossies that ye might not like but in the last 4 Years Mayo have beaten Donegal Dublin Tyrone and Cork in the championship.Ye shower havent bate f**k all the last 4 years.
And yet for all those glorious Croke park wins ye still have only won one more senior All Ireland than us. Cool your jets desperate dan.

I see ye got bet by Laois, by seven points at that.
Yet Laois weren't good enough for Cavan, or for Westmeath and could only draw with Meath. Somehow or other, I'll still be sticking me few bob on Mayo to make it five-in-a-row in Connacht this year.
Ya the Laois result suits your argument very well on the other hand we bet Down & Kildare away remind me how Mayo did on their last visits to Newbridge and Newry? i always go for value odds myself & i might place a few bob on Galway to beat ye in June.

BTW, the Senan bloke would be fairly handy if only ye could get the lazy f**ker to run a biteen faster. Mobility isn't his strongest point. Ian might be useful if he could stay injury-free. Two fine lads, didn't I go to school with their father?
Was talking to Sean Kilbride in Kiltoom on Wednesday night at the U21 game he'd sure love that lazy stereotyping above. Yes not for the first time you have told us that you went to school with him, so it seems like Sean Kilbride you were educated & kicked your first football in Roscommon.  I think its time you signed up to club rossie Lar  :D

Too easy against a Sligo side that more or less gave up after our 2nd goal on 7mins, i expected much better from them after the test they gave us last year. So we go into Connacht final without a competitive game under our belts since January while Mayo or Galway will be fine tuned from their meeting this Saturday not ideal but we'll have to get on with it.

Not sure why Dowd didn't take Harney,Murtagh,Smith off at half time? anyway well done to the lads and management on clinical performance tonight.

P.S Sean the Mayo man must be busy posting from his numerous usernames tonight because "You are ignoring this user" shows up for every 2nd post on this thread tonight  :D
