Whilst new words arrive every year e.g. selfie, has anyone noticed words that disappearing?

e.g. Perv.

Back in the 1980's I would hear "stop that you perv" whereas nowadays it is "Ohhh kinky, do that again"

Any others?

Gutties ... Trainers!

Never hear it anymore and if you say it to anyone under the age of 30 they don't have a clue :-/ .. great word though !!

Mind you I should probably check with the Ulster Scots "bouurrrd" to see if they're using it .. probably turned it into a verb or something :-/ !!!

I thought the phrase 'property ladder' had gone in Ireland but according to politics.ie it is coming back rapidly.

The US Republicans used to say 'if it aint broke don't fix it', but you don't hear that since the financial crisis.
