I know it's big business in Twitter world but does anyone really give a shit about it ?
How do you know it's big business on twitter world?
It's being reported all over the media live so obviously plenty of people give a shit.
You wouldn't know a story if it hit you with an uppercut.

You are still a strange being

As Gallsman says impossible and futile to compare, stats for instance When people compare LBJ & Jordan's stats - 3 point shooting wasn't part of the game then the way it is now, when Jordan was playing in college there wasn't even a 3pt line.

Game totally different then, most teams went through a big centre in the paint, Olajuwon, Ewing & Shaq etc. Now you have players like LeBron at 6"9 & Durant at 6"11 running the floor like guards and shooting 3s. Does anyone think Jordan wouldn't have become a very good 3 shooter if playing now ?

Good article here discussing it -

I enjoyed the Pacific more than band of brothers but it's been years since I seen BOB so might be unfair to compare them.

For anyone that liked the BOB interviews then the Vietnam War by Ken Burns on Netflix is an absolute must. I really enjoy most of Burns work. Really balanced stuff, allows room in history for all sides.
The Pacific was very good but didn't seem to get the same sort of traction with the viewing public.

The Vietnam One is great! Daughters doing Vietnam for her GCSE history this is a must watch for her

Max Hastings book on Vietnam is a good companion for the series, might be a bit heavy for a 16 year old but I read it a few months ago and it's tremendous

True enough, but I look forward to seeing how the Chiefs defence cope with Derek Henry in the AFC Championship game before they get to the superbowl. The Chiefs run defence is supposedly not that good. The Ravens with a strong defence couldn't cope with Henry.

If they put up 50 points though I don't think it'll matter.  If offense gets around 30 then it will be in the melting pot and it will be great viewing to see how Henry goes at that D.  They didn't hold up very well to the Patriots run game in the playoffs last year.

Yeah if KC get out to a fast start Henry won't be as much of a factor as they will abandon the run, the Chiefs just have too many weapons & I would have fancied them against the Ravens in any event

Watt coming back is an incredible story and his sack, in hindsight, ended upchanging the game, but listening to Tessitore and that absolute moron Booger bang on about him, you'd have thought he was putting in the single greatest defensive performance of all time

It'ds hard to believe these two but especially Booger get paid to commentate. So many times they say stuff that is clearly the oppositie of what has happened before their eyes. Utterly clueless.

That's the only negative note on a great weekend of games. Playoffs are just that cut above the regular season. Hard to see past the rested home teams next weekend - I think the Packers will be delighted with not having to face the Saints.

Hard to believe Packers finished the season with a 13-3 record. Personally think their record is more a reflection of their opponents than their own strength. They were blown away by the 49ers and Ravens in the regular season and only beat the chiefs at the start of the season with a late touchdown when Matt Moore was the Chief's QB.

Wentz leaving the game cost the Eagles any chance of winning the game. Can't believe Clowney wasn't flagged and/or ejected. Dangerous cheap shot, and not the 1st time time he's gone in late like that on a QB.

Based on form it's hard to see past AFC championship game between Ravens & Chiefs, which should be a cracker.

49ers with home stadium advantage should win out the NFC

Packers have been very inconsistent on offense this year, and Rodgers in particular. Mind you they have a D and a run game this year that they haven't had in the past few years so Rodgers doesent have to drag they team the way he has had to but if he gets hot they could beat anyone.

Plenty of options out there if United are on the look out for new manager at the end of this season than a manager who based on league results in 2019 has done worse than Ole and Poch was managing a better squad of players at Spurs.

Some are making out that Spurs was some mid-table outfit that Poch turned into contenders. In reality Spurs finished in the top 5 in 4 of the 5 season before he arrived (4th,5th,4th,5th,6th) and a top four finishes was easier to do for Spurs in recent seasons as both Arsenal and Man United stopped being regular top 4 sides.

A lot also reckon he's done well having to work along side Daniel Levy maybe so but working along side a clueless Ed Woodward is much tougher and the pressure to succeed is at different level in the United hot seat.

Thats been very disingenuous, Spurs had a very good side under Redknapp but had 2 of the worlds best players in Modric & Bale but both were gone and the money spent badly before Poch took over. He turned several players who looked average into really top players and wasn't far off break even in the transfer market and their wage bill was less than half of what United's was. Spurs wage bill in 17/18 was £147m whilst Arsenals was £223m and United's was £295m.

Woodward might well be inept but at least he's given United managers a lot of money unlike Levy.

Yeah going by that fairly basic rationale from Cunny Funt Liverpool shouldn't have hired Klopp as his last year at Dortmund wasn't good.

Clov I appreciate what you are saying but those last two few seasons were terrible from Kaep, and I was a fan at a stage, and you can talk about the situation he was in there are plenty of shitty situations in the NFL for a QB, it doesent mean your play regresses so badly.

When you look at his PFF stats that I mentioned the other day, and I know everyone isn't a fan of it but plenty of NFL teams use it now, *every* throw is graded, takes into account drops etc (no excuses basically) those last two seasons were abysmal. I think the boat has sailed for him, no way a player has improved after 3 seasons out of the NFL. He was very good at a time but that time has long passed.

This is from 4 years ago -

Kaepernick was the *lowest* graded QB (PFF) in 2015 & the 6th lowest graded in 2016. Saying he was average in his final years would be very generous

We need to remember Kaepernick level of play before "kneeling", he was benched for Blaine Gabbert, and that was 3/4 years ago.

The read option was no longer there for him, defenses had worked him out, it usually happens in the NFL. He was never going to be a pocket passer, at the end of his starter days the playbook was as simple as you will get. They weren't asking him to throw anything outside the numbers, all basic stuff.

That was 3/4 years ago, people think he will be better now ?? NFL teams will put up with a lot if you can play, if you can't well they won't. Next man up
