Playing the man and not the ball. I don't see anything wrong with that article.

Do you see no irony in that post? You criticise someone for 'playing the man and not the ball', then immediately defend an article about Mickey Harte which makes barely a single reference to his ability as a manager, but rather is just a lengthy character assassination of him as a person.
And every thing he criticised is something Harte himself put into the public domain....
Completely irelevant. If you criticise the notion of somone "playing the man", then it's hypocritical to immediately after go on to praise an article written purely as a character assasination of a man.

Not the same. Mickey uses media for his own agenda and his disciples dont like him being held to account. You haven't made one comment on the content of the article, probably because it's all true

Harte is happy to play the media. But when someone in the media won't play ball, its a charachter assasination. The real world doesn't work like that.

Objectionable and all as his reference for a rapist was, it was not done through the media and was done in a personal/private capacity as he knew the family. What has it got to do with a sports column? And given that it was a story from 5/6 years ago, it seems fairly clear that the article was motivated purely by a desire to dish out a vindictive bit of abuse. The author of the article a few days ago termed Harte "a massive bigot" on social media. Was that fair criticism or just outright abusive namecalling?
