Most interesting one in years.

I still predict a Labour victory and very little change here.  However, Mike Nesbitt might win Strangford and watch out for Trevor Ringland in East Belfast.

General discussion / PDC Premier League of Darts

Just a question.  Watched it tonight.  James Wade was booed every time he went for a double.  Anyone know why?  Seems like a decent chat.  Only 26 and a great talent.  Premier champion.  Or am I giving too much credit to the drunken mobs who attend such events?

The Big Man has decided not to run for election this time.  Allister will be rubbing his hands with glee.  He definitely can beat Ian og

General discussion / BNP and Norn Iron

Just a thought..

If the BNP are all for repatriating non English people and ensuring that only genuine ENglish people live in England, surely their policy on Ni should be that the British people in this country should return to where they came from.  OK Asians and Blacks make up a large part of England, but they haven't partitioned it yet, nor did they discriminate against the natives when they were in govt.

GAA Discussion / GPA TV

Check this out lads

After this riveting piece of TV Gold, I really want to sign up.  I wonder can I get Coronation Street on it?

Next year's congress is the once in five years one where games rules can be changed.  I reckon it's time to give 2 points for a sideline cut.  Which one would you change?

Anyone listening to Joe Duffy today?  The whole Wolfe Tones saga was played out in front of us all in a triumph of public service broadcasting. All four of them giving it loads on the radio as to who was to blame for the split.  For what it's worth, i wouldn't be a fan of Derek Warfield.  The debate was a bit tragic also in places and quite sad.  But which wing are you with or what do you make of this row?

Wouldn't buy this rag in a million years, but apparently there was an article in its magazine tearing the GAA apart.  Can anyone post it if you have it so I see for myself?

GAA Discussion / Sean Cavanagh and Powerade
August 05, 2009, 09:31:46 AM
Given that Oisin was kicked out of the GPA for sponsoring Lucozade, I wonder what spin will the GPA put on their secretary now sponsoring Powerade.  i thought they were committed to the other water, sugar and orange colouring concoction Energise?

Unbelievable statistic.  Typical of the single mindedness of Harte.  Won't get swayed into popular decisions.  Is there anyone good emough even?

General discussion / U2 - No Line on the Horizon

I know there's a thread somewhere else on this but it's too far away now.

Just wonderin is anyone else of the same opinion that now 'on mature recollection' after listening to the album and allowing it to sink in, that it's probably their best work ever?

I personally think it's a masterpiece now after initially thinking it wasn't up to much.

Just wonderin about this site.  Usually good for watching an odd sky match free, thus depriving Rupert Murdock of my money, but recently it's making me download a programme called Zango before it lets me in. I have so far resisted, encouraged by Norton who is recommending I block all attempts to allow it into my system.

has anyone else been down this road?  Have you installed Zango?

Thanks

Very interesting.

Turns out a RIC man helped form the GAA

Just thought I'd start the ball rolling here lads.  Tyrone's strong performance today and Kerry's five point v Cork should be enough to set up an interesting All Ireland final.  Obviously Kerry chasing revenge and a three in a row; their first since the eighties and Tyrone seeking three All Ireland titles in this decade.  Promises to be a great build-up.  Any tickets?

GAA Discussion / How is Division 2 Decided?
April 14, 2008, 03:09:21 PM
Is it a straight final between first and second, or do they play another division, or what?  Or is there a final at all?

Had a bit of a go at them today in this paper.  I just heard this. i don't get/wouldn't buy it.  Has anyone got it handy?  Like Fergal McCusker, he now regrets the whole thing...

All the signs are there.  Played beyond their ability last year, men who played well are now becoming famous and perhaps have forgotten the work it took last year, fatigue is setting in and the attitude mightn't be there for another tilt at the title.  Monaghan are poised for a disaster and when they finally do crash out of everything, I would ask someone to dig out this post and reflect on how I predicted it right at the start.  QUB last Sunday was just the start.  brace yourselves.  Monaghan are going DOWN!

General discussion / PSP Question
December 31, 2007, 07:20:03 PM
The lad got a new memory card and seemed to think he could download games onto his PSP.  I got onto Mininova and yes, there were games and I downloaded them.  I then went thru the procedure for putting them onto the PSP< but it wouldn't let me do it.

I dug further...

Turns out you need to have the earlier 2.0 firmware on the PSP to be able to download games.  My lad has a newer version, (3.5) or something.  It appears Sony cottoned onto the download business and sorted it out in the later versions.

I dug further...

It appears you can downgrade your PSP by downloading downgrade software.  I hear from internet that this might be unreliable and could erase your entire setup, but others say it's OK.

Has anyone any help for me on this?  Is there a way of downloading PSP games without having to downgrade? Or has anyone else downgraded with no problems???

General discussion / Is Mighty Quinn Played Out?
December 15, 2007, 06:04:28 PM
Mighty Quinn.  He has entertained us with his polls, amusing introductions and witty asides.  He has asked us our opinions on the pints fight with some other poster, has asked us if Bono is a bollox and his latest gem is on Gerry Ryan.  But are we now growing tired of him, are his poll ideas becomig a little formulaic is be being exposed as a one hit wonder himself?  Is it now time to phase the mighty QUinn out?

General discussion / SOny Sat Nav. New map download.
December 15, 2007, 01:37:04 AM
I have this about a year now.  A bit patchy, but generally OK.  It is now interrupting me every so often telling me there is a software update, but that costs £30 or something.  Not a hope am I paying it.  Has anyone a handier way of getting it?  Maybe for free? An old rogue download site.  It's not on Limewire, though, not Mininova.
